Error in Speeding ticket
So a friend of mine gets his 2nd speeding ticket. His 1st ticket he got fix by taking some safe driving class. Anyhow, I'll quote from what he say on crsx.
Quote:
-Asian Friend was driving about 10 over speed limit -Other drivers were speeding more -State trooper pull everyone over -Friend's ticket says he was going 15 over and hes white. I can't help but feel there might be a loophole since I have heard people getting out of tickets because a cop wrote the license plate # down wrong. Such as "5 = S" or "0(Zero) = O" and so forth. I am curious what other people have to say, so lets hear it! Last edited by DTNguyen107; 01-22-2008 at 12:29 AM. |

These days, tickets don't get thrown out anymore because of a simple typo. There is just so much information on a ticket that one little discrepancy really means nothing. You have your car, colour, make, model, plate and most importantly the full driver's information -- first and last name, driver's license ID, etc. Your friend's argument is going to be really weak when he shows up and wants the ticket thrown out because his race is incorrect, but his first name, last name and driver's license ID all match.

Fight Traffic Tickets / Contest Traffic Tickets with the Ticket Assassin: Your Guide to Fighting California Traffic Tickets & Contesting Traffic Citations in California
I had 2 speeding tickets within 6 months. First offense, took traffic school so that I won't get a point on my driver's record. When I got caught the second time, there was gonna be 1 point against me no matter what, so I went to that website to get some information. Two to three months after I got caught, the last day that I have to pay the ticket, I requested a Trial by Declaration and pay the fine. Now, I have one month to mail in MY side of the story. Then a couple of months later, I received a letter that my case was dismissed and they refunded me the fine. |

In most states the race card does not work anymore. To say it very bluntly....If your Mom was African American and your father was Caucasian what would i write in the ticket area? There is no good answer. Usually the officer will simply write white or black. I'm not starting a racial war just stating how the situation really plays out.

get a ticket thrown out because of a bad race description?!!?lol, good luck with that. its not gonna happen. i mean if they messed up teh car description, plate number, or violation you would have a chance. but its definate in there eyes that you were driving the car that is listed on the ticket....your guilty.

I'll be damned there's even a box to select race... driver's name & license number should be all they need for description... hell... even the most blind person could probably do the comparison between a license and an actual person... |
