Crazy ferrari speeding- 9 min video

On an August morning in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a

gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a Ferrari 275 GTB and had a friend,

a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at breakneck speed through the heart

of Paris.

The film was limited for technical reasons to 10 minutes; the course was

from Porte Dauphine, through the Louvre, to the Basilica of Sacre Coeur.

No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit.

The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes, reaching nearly 140 MPH

in some stretches. The footage reveals him running real red lights, nearly

hitting real pedestrians, and driving the wrong way up real one-way

streets.

Upon showing the film in public for the first time, Lelouch was arrested.

He has never revealed the identity of the driver, and the film went

underground until a DVD release a few years ago.

Make sure your sound is on!

this is cool, after 4 min it gets good and by the 7th min- absolutely crazy. ENJOY

LOL, we just watched this is my Automotive engineering class at school....pretty sweet. I like when he has to go up on the curb and almost hit someone. He had to have done it really early in the morning there are very few cars on the road. I think we counted 16 red lights that he ran.

This film reminds me of one Nissan made a few years ago called "The Run" featuring the then-new 350Z. That was a bad ass video as well. It ended the same way with the driver meeting a woman. I believe that Nissan closed off the streets of Prague to do their film though. Look it up though, its a great one as well!

Hey... I think I ran the first 3 minutes of this course on either Midnight or Need For Speed. It brought back so many memories... Very exhilerating...
