Another Automatic/DSG bash thread by... Me
I hear a lot of people saying, "Oh.. DSG is not an automatic because it has two clutches..."
Um... So what?! Have you ever heard of a TCC, torque converter clutch Almost every single automatic these days has a TCC, why? Because TC slippage was at about a 40% rate, 40%! Then they put clutches on there which brought it down to only 10% slip rate, with more technology automatic clutches have no slip rate, and twin clutches are used to control the torque converter...
Just because an automatic has a button to override the "preset logic" doesn't make it a manual car, sorry. Cars like the base RSX etc. that used "tiptronic" is the same thing as paddle shifters just not using paddles. It's just a switch that overrides the preset logic.
