they are nice cars..They are dated but balanced and smooth with only small amount of squeeky noise coming from the seat brackets which drives me insane. I think the shifter is one of the lightest and one of the best in terms of throw length I have ever used.
The car lacks power though...It was great for its time but is just neh now. You have to angle in and out of drive ways because of the front nose. I cannot tell you ride quality since the one I was in had koni suspension. Tell you one thing though, it makes a nice notes! |

Although now I don't think I could ever justify buying a new $90k NSX (if it was still in production) over a 997S, with 355hp, that thing is just sick, and is worlds better than the 996, which had a lot of flaws. Sorry I got off on a Carrera vs. NSX tangent, but they are two of my favorite cars all time, and I can really never decide which I like better. Feel free to leave your guys' opinions on the Carrera/NSX debate. |

A 997s would run you about 85k? decently equiped I believe. Nsx never caught on like porsches because of the low driving position. Its not exsactly comfortible having to always drop into your car. This is why the mustang sells so well over other sports cars like the z because of the driving position and that apeals to women. A pet peeve of mine was the stock rims.. I really hate stock honda rims..ugly! |

Also you're right about the stock rims, they were pretty nasty up until the facelift circa 2003 (i think), then when they switched to that 7-spoke 17f/18r" setup I thought they looked a whole lot better, also liked the clear headlights as opposed to the popups. |

I drove the last year model, I beleive 2005, anyway my overall impression was that it wasnt that fast, sounded really good, and drove nicely, however i will say this, To me in all honesty it reminded me completely of my 1986 toyota mr2. they both drove very similar, the nsx to me was prone to understeer and front end bobbing, typical of mid engine cars, very very old acura quality you know what i mean like a 94 vigor, legend, those cars were built well, same to me. its like a time capsule when you get in it because its pretty much the same as the 93+ models. overall fun car, very daily driver. and as usual honda conservative.

Ive driven a friends NSX on nitros and i thought it was pretty god damn fast! Even just tooling around you could tell it had power. And with his straight through exhaust it sounded mean as hell.
Another buddy of mine owns factor X engineering and they have some of the fastest NSXs ever made and those would make you never say a single bad thing about them. They had some of the test drivers from the Japanese racing videos take them out and they said it was way more HP than they ever had in a NSX in Japan. It was just nice to hear that the US had done something better than the Japanese for once! check em out! its the FX500 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lG2liyjKd4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=908G5gIZGnw |
