so you can put 300k miles on a jeep and get a new engine if it blows?

as long as you bring it in every 5 years for an inspection?

yep, but by then the rest of the car will have fallen apart so it won't matter

Thats pretty cool but i bet the warranty is really weak. They'll try to claim everything as normal wear and if you haven't performed all of the service on time at their dealerships you've probably voided the warranty.

Or...its easy to provide a 'lifetime warranty' if the company declares bankrupcy and reorgs, is absorbed and disclaimed, etc.

= no warranty liability

Now that Daimler gave the failing Chrysler away to Cerberus that lifetime warranty isn't going to be worth squat in a year or two. I wonder how cheap they'll go with the Crossfire? -it'll become the DeLorean of the 21st century except better built and faster.
