8th Gen Coupe Touring Car, In-Car Video

Hello,

Some members might remember a 2006 Civic coupe touring car last year (I saw some pictures posted on this forum). The car is still running strong in the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship. I've lined some video from our latest race at the Toronto Grand Prix. For the record, we won the Super Touring Class in both the Saturday and Sunday Race

Race 1 Highlights

Race 2, Part 1

Race 2, Part 2

Race 2, Part 3

Video from further back in the pack (boosted VW)

The car, for anyone who's interested, is a 2006 Coupe (not really an Si) now running a K20A from a 2005 ITR. We make about 221hp to the wheels with cams, a header, and K-Pro.

I will try to post more video later in the season.

Nice action!!!

Looks like you where out breaking and handling better on the turns. A little more power in the straights and you would be golden!

Thats loud.

You were running up on that corvette in the first vid, and I thought, "He's not going to pass that corvette" and then you shot by. Awesome.

I'd be interested to know why you guys chose to go with the k20a? I assume due to Kpro availability, progamability of the ECU?

Stock Honda Gears, with a short shift. Its not drive by wire, so the throttle cut is very precise.

Last season we ran a K24, mostly because all the RSX's in SWC were running them. This season, because our K24's are out getting built for our 2007 car, we were forced to run the K20a's. In our series, stepping down to the K20 meant we could take 150lbs out of the car, and gave us a lot more room in our gears (+1000RPM). At Mosport we ended up just as fast, and the car was a lot more flexible throughout the lap.

you guys have a good driver..your lines are very well choosen versus the others I see on the field. A little more power would work to your advantage.

+rep for passing the Corvette

Edit - That BMW driver is dirty as sh!t... can't handle the car and hold the race line.

Edit 2 - Looks like an FG1 from the rear? I see a small lip spoiler, not the Si wing.
