Removing front brake cooling vents?

I'm thinking of removing them from the front as I already did for the rear. I hope they won't cause anything bad which i'm 100% possitive they won't but I want a cleaner look underneath the car and i'm going to remove them cause i hate them and it looks goofy under there. What do ya'll think?, ever thought about removing them?.

It won't do anything unless your going to run your car on a track(the one where you have to turn) because yeah it funnels air into the brakes

well no then, I don't do autoXing or track stuff with my car. it's a daily driver. I know that those things help keep the brakes cooler but mostly when you're driving fast and applying brakes heavy and hard. They're there for fast agressive driving, which I don't do. I just drive to work and back home. and on my days off I do errands and or just drive around cause I love to drive my Si .

The cooling vents under the car? In the plastic? They're not in the way of anything and you don't even notice them unless you've got the car jacked up. Or are you talking about those hideous dust guards on the '07s? If so, good for you. They look soooo weird.

I have them. When CivicwithNav had his EX he wanted them. I figured there must be someone else out there who'd like them.

I would keep them on the car. Unless of course your car spends most of the time looking pretty in your driveway....

I don't want them on there. I hate them! I just have to find the time and figure out when and how to take them off. There should be nothing wrong after I take them off. I don't drive much and like HELL if i'll leave it parked "looking pretty" LOL. yeah, you're right about those damn things possibly breaking off or getting all scratched up when parked a BIT too close to one of those parkinglot blocks. if you end up getting them stuck on some curb or parkinglot block and you get in your car and start to pull out and they're REALLY badly stuck, you're probably going to mess EVERYTHING else up underneath there JUST by doing that. My car clears those blocks pretty well but one day those damn plastic brake cooling vents are going to catch and then end up ripping out and phucking up my WHOLE entire splash guard and whatnot. you guys know what I mean?. They're a tiny bit scratched up from the dealership anyways. someone must've parked too close to something and ended up scratching them. IMO, they're just useless! and a good way to have a DOMINO effect of disaster when getting them stuck on something.

Well as of yesterday (9-30-07) I took off those damn brake cooling vents along with doing my first oil change at 4000 miles with 15% oil life and I LOVE how it looks now without those things on there not to mention how much more nicer she drives with Mobil 1 and a Mobil 1 oil filter I just took a drill bit and my drill and drilled those 2 rivvets off and they came right out!. I just thought i'd mention this cause this is my thread and I know you guys know I wanted them off so I did it while the car was jacked up for the oil change. PEACE!

I don't know if anyone would want them cause i marked them up a bit from the spinning of the drill. and the diameter of the holes where the rivvets went are maybe and i mean MAYBE a bit bigger now that I had to use the drill bit that was bigger than the rivvets. I drilled them and they came RIGHT OFF!. But i'd have to wetsand them and make them look pretty again before I sell them. It's nothing that can't come out really nicely. Just gotta prep them and touch them up first.

Why do YOU want them anyways?. Do you have an Si?. if so, you wouldn't need them for your car.

alright, well let me see first cause I never said I was gonna sell them. Everything I have taken off of my FG2, I haven't thrown away or have broken. Just incase I ever have to reinstall them.

A Templet?. What do you think of those Brake Cooling Vents?. I guess they'd be usefull if the driver was agressive or tracked their car but it's just a piece of plastic sitting there really.
