To mod or not to mod, that is the question

At this point I have done my research on mods (you would hope I know something after 1500 posts), gotten to know a decent amount about my car, have some good driving experience with it, and should be getting a nice financial boost soon that will allow me to implement some of my modding plans.

However, right now I am torn between taking my car and modding it for some more fun, or keeping it stock for the financial aspect.

I really just plan on keeping this car for senior year, and after that it will either end up going to college with me or end up sold depending on where I get accepted. (there are some places where you just don't want to bring your car )

Is it worth modding my car since I may just be keeping it for a year, or will that negatively affect resale value?

note: I will not mod and part out my car, if it is modded, it is sold with the mods on.

IMO, since you don't know if you can keep the car past a year, save the $ and keep it stock until you know if you're gonna keep the car.

if you mod and try selling it modded you can either loose money or win some depending on who buys it.

of a civic enthusiast bought it with mods he could pay more than the kbb value.
if a dealer such as carmax buys it, they will deduct for the stock
parts and labor they will have to put in to get your car back to stock form.

so, if you're going to mod and sell later make sure you keep the stock parts
and leave the option for yourself so that you can still sell the car in stock
form. it is much easier to sell the car in stock form and part out the bits.

just talking from experience.

if you going to mod, get coils, rims, good tires and a short shifter :) it'll be a brand new car again!!
