why did you buy Honda?

why did you buy Honda?

I wonder what made you decide to buy this Honda Civic?

Here is my little story.

I was looking at Toyota Matrix, Corolla and Chevy Colbart, also the Hyundai elantra. When I was looking the Honda which I wanted, The lease rates were highest. I even went into the show room and got a boucher.

So I seam at the time, that the lease rates were to high so no Civc for me. so I took a few cars out for a spin.

Colbart. I like the styling, Its very cheap and you get lot of kit. But I hated the hard plastics, that you were surrounded with, it felt like a sea of hard plastics. It did feet well bolted together. It was quiet on the highway and no temperature gauge, thats a must on any car. it also felt cramp and was thirsty. I had the car for the whole weekend. but It was a No.

The Matrix was very sport, very practical, love the high SUV felling as tour down the road. But way to basic, wind-up windows, I didn't like the plastics. so that was out and the price was over my budget.

So at this point I was stuck. Next morning I got up and decide to test Elantra and then Corolla, I knew the Corolla is about to be replaced the rates were so cheap, Elantra was at zero rates.

Anyways I was on the way to the first dealership when I look across at the Honda dealership as went buy. I slam the brakes on when I sore the low lease rates and rush in the dealership in ten minutes I was behind the wheel of DX-G. As soon I got in I knew I wanted it, the dealer let me take out for 2 hours on my own. Which was also great. The decided Factor was.

1. Oh that dash if feels so modern, everything else looks so dated now,
2. The ride.
3 The overall feel of Honda.
4. Its a Honda, I have always like Honda. I don't why they just something about them.

So in the end I never made to Hyundai or Toyota

I'm now the proud owner of a Honda, I pitch myself and every time I see Elantra or Corrolla, I'm so clad I didn't buy one of them.

A couple months before October of 05 (when I got my civic) I saw pictures and thought, "hm. That's pretty cool.." Well I started reading about them and soaked up as much information about them as I could. I had an SUV and gas prices were getting higher, so I wanted something that was good on gas, was a 2 door, and stickshift. Once I knew as much about them as possible, I started my search for one. I test drove a manual ex coupe at one dealer (where I work now, haha) and fell in love. I didn't get a good deal on my trade in though, so I went to a different dealership. About a week later I had a brand new 06 Civic EX coupe.

Not sure really to be honest what made me want this car originally. I have always driven american cars, and never thought I would drive an import of any kind especially a honda. I had a car with a ton more power than the Si (srt4), but lacked in everyother category. I have a few freinds that have honda for a while....then I saw the 8th gen civic and liked the overall design of the car. I then went to test drive an Si, and I was sold instantly.

I love this car, and don't think I will ever go back to domestic cars. I can't stress to you guys enough the huge improvement in overall quality. I see some comments on here about interior finish, and squeaks and sounds from the inside cabin, but in the end it is nothing. Drive an srt4 for a while to see what I mean......talk about shitty quality.

For an overall package of speed, practicallity, options, safety, handling, and price this car can't be beat by anyone trust me.

All COBALTS come with a digital on-board computer w/coolant temp. It really is difficult to compare the cobalt to the civic. The civic starts out @ $15,500. The COBALT starts out @ $12,900. That $2600 price difference gets you a better quality interior, etc.

Well, when I went out that day I had a couple cars I wanted to test drive and check out. First was the scoin xB, I didn't have much money and needed something with good gas milage for my long commute. I liked the interior of the xB but it had NO power, NO umph. I checked out the tC but did not drive it, at the time i did not think I could make that high of a payment. I then went accross the street to the Honda dealership looking for a new fit sport but they were barley on the street and they sold them right when they rolled on the lot... the salseman then started telling me I should see the new civic they just got in. I went and took a look, Oh my! I fell in love right away. On the test drive I couldn't get over how nice the interior was and the styling was amazing for the price range. After ALOT of thought and talking with the salesman I drove off with a new '06 LX Coupe. It is my first Honda and I have to say I am very impressed with the car so far, its my baby

My last car was a civic. I had brought it in the dealer because it was over heating and no other mechanic wanted to touch it and kept telling me to bring it to the dealer. We'll the repairs for the car were gonna be expensive over $1,700. So I was at the dealer with my parents so we started looking at used cars but my dad didn't want anymore car problems. Everything else is history. I ended up with a brand 2007 civic.

My dad gave me his 97 Honda Accord when I got my license 5 years ago this past March. I drove it up until a month ago, when I traded it in for an 07 civic ex coupe.

The only other car I drove was a Scion TC and Acura TSX. The scion felt cheap compared to the Honda, the Acura was amazingness but I couldn't afford it, as I'm currently finishing college and engaged to be married soon.

I would never drive an American vehicle, they just aren't made to standards. I love the USA, but damn do the Japs know how to make a good car.

I had to move from Florida to North Texas. Fuel prices kept going up and was not using boat with out boat didn't need truck. Wanted nice cheap easy on fuel and dependable car. Civic was first care to come to mind. Went to Honda dealer looked at new 8th gen civic. WoW cool just right. Then went in show room and looked at Civic SI. Hmmm looks cool asked to drive and they said ok. Drove car for about 30min and said sold. It was so fun to drive! Makes me think back to the late 80's when I had a 1983 Mustang GT.

The reason I purchased my first Honda was for the reliability and fuel efficiency. I had just finished High School and started driving 1 hour to College every day. Half hour on the highway and half hour in the city. Unfortunately my High School car, 1999 Mercury Cougar (Oh, the horror!), just couldn't handle all the kilometers. I purchased my first brand new car, 2004 Honda Civic SI-G. (Pretty sure it was just an EX in the U.S)

I've never driven such a solid car. I had that thing for 3 years and never heard a single rattle, tick, squeek or clank. I went 3 years without replacing anything other than your general oil and air filters. I did, however, follow all of Honda's scheduled maintenance plans, A, B, C, D, etc... In those 3 years I drove the car 120,000km. My tires, breaks, time belt, everything lasted the entire time. They only just now began telling me that my tire treads and breaks are getting low and need to be replaced shortly.

Thankfully, since I graduated, got a permanent job and moved to the city, I can get a more sporty car. Now I'm a proud owner of a 2007 Honda Civic Si. Hopefully this car will treat me as well as the old one.

I still own my STI and I bought my LX A/T for reliability, better gas mileage and for a car to just cruise around in when I don't feel like driving my Subie (stick).

Hey guys
I am brand new to this site. Ive been reading a lot of the testimonials for why everyone love hondas. I must say I'm proud. With the purchase of my brand new black 07 civic si i am now on my 4th honda/acura. I have had 2 RSX-S's a 98 civic ex coupe and now this one. Hondas are made with so much quality and craftsmanship that there is no doubt why the imported japanese cars are taking over. You read the paper and read internet sites that tell you how bad ford, gmc and chev are doing. You dont have to wonder why anymore. As we have read from some of the other members about the interiors of the chevs being cheaply made with hard plastic to the absolute boringness of a gm. Toyota Lexus and Honda and Acura are the absolute best cars made. So i guess to agree with everyone i love honda and would never buy anything else.

Reliability brah. I've been driving Hondas since 1987. Here's my list of Hondas:

85 CRX
92 Civic
92 Prelude
03 G35 - oops, not a Honda
99 Prelude
07 Civic

I had close to no problems on all the Hondas I owned whether I bought them new or used. Typical problems were like dead batteries, radiator leakage, and needed new starter. That was it. No engine or tranny issues on all my Hondas. And all of my Hondas were over 120K miles before I sold them .

I didn't have much money, and what I got (bang for the buck) is one of the biggest reasons I did...plus everything you hear about them (which is almost always good).

Well, I had my 95' Eclipse for just over 8 years and while it was cool to drive, I felt I needed something newer and more reliable. I wasn't even planning on getting an Si; I either wanted to stick with Mitsu and go for an Evo, or get a truck and go for a Ridgeline. The Ridgeline was just out of my price range and the Evo would've been a used 2003 model.

But then I realized that I needed to be realistic, especially with gas prices going up. I opted for fuel efficiency and reliability. Plus I wanted something brand new because I got tired of messing around with used cars. I did a lot of surfing online and read about the Si, but didn't seriously consider it until my old roommate called me at work and told me he found a great deal on one. We went to the dealership that afternoon, test drove it, and I took it home that evening.
