Why do people dislike safety systems?

VSA, ABS, EBD, airbags, seatbelts, etc.

Why do people have problems with these systems?

After seeing multiple threads complaining about these systems (on multiple forums) I fail to grasp why people do not want them.

airbags and seatbelts? i'm pretty sure no one is going to argue against it. for the other stuff, some people feel like they cut in too early. if they were better programmed (e.g. evo x), then im sure they will be more than welcomed.

Its human instinct, we don't want to be controlled by an outside force we always want to be in control, im speaking for VSA or TCS. Plus a system like VSA only adds more possible things to go wrong if something malfunctions. I actually wish I had VSA though, it would prove better for endeavors in dangerous weather. Honestly its not that people dislike them its more like we dont need them.

as far as yaw/traction control, manufacturer use maps that are too
conservative most of the time, this is why a lot of us turn it off.

but it's a good feature to have while driving in the rain.

Theres plenty of thread on here about people complaining about seatbelts. I dont see what the big deal is, just wear the damn thing. Its way better than the alternative.
