Mini Civic DX review

You know I had my civic since Wednesday and I got what I think is a good deal. I know it is only DX and it doesn't have air or cruise, nor power locks but I really like the car the more I drive it, I'm not disappointed one bit.

I think is one of the best civic ever made, it does look more expensive car than really is. It does not feel like a cheap econ o-box. The details on this car are amazing, right down to that steering wheel I think it work of art. I even like the shape of the windows. The dash is neat, just everything about the Civic is neat.

I even learned to be light footed, I find the pedals a little sensitive at first, but I'm used to that now. It Is great on petrol, The 3.8 buck regal was a pig, It did like 10 MPG. so this seams a lot more thrifty. I can't feel the auto box at all, sometimes I think its kicking down, not quiet sure as it is super quiet. I been driving gentle, but not slow like, Just gentle. It does slow a little on hills, but that cause is 4 banker, 4 banker do that, at lease that is what I think.

Is this a ramble? I bet is a ramble? oh well I'm happy I guess.

I took the Civic for a whiz up the highway I think its great. Even the stereo sounds decent. It has great outward visibility. I can't help sometimes looking at the dials more than I think I should. It also surprise me how warms up so quick. last night was first night I took out the car when is was dark. I didn't relies the back lights don't come on when you drive along at night on daylight running lights. For some strange reason I check. So lucky I drove with the headlights on, somethink that I not in a long long while. B/C the Buick you never had to drive at all with the headlights on, B/C the daylight running lights and the back lights were always on. I must say the Civic dash looks lovely at night. with the lovely mello blue lights. I like the chime, to tell you've left the bleading light on you fool.

You know the last car I took on the highway was a Chevy Colbart, It had numb feeling. I hated how much the wind whistle at the front window screen, Is it was loud at speed. The Civic is more buzzy which I like, but not intrusive. The Chevy feels faster on highway, where as the Civic is relax affair. Cause I have no Air-Con I closed all the windows and try the cold air blower with the feet setting and the car was cool inside, outside was 30C and sunny even at 120 clicks is was cool

Galaxy Grey is strange colour, sometime in certain lights I think it is brown, I think is cause it got a lot brown in the tint. Maybe it is me? what do you think? Oh I don't know LOL....

Anyways...Tomorrow I gonna wash and wax the car.

<--Pre Prep Civic.

Do you plan on hooking A/C up to it? Do you plan on doing anything to the car?

First thing I'm going to buy is those heavy duty mats from honda, $130 for 2

So yer

I own the car in three years. Once it is paid off. so fancy wheels might be nice though.

Air Con?

Can you really hook air con to it. Wow, I bet that is pricey. Honda quote 2k. Something I may look into.

From the clues I've seen (km/h), DX without A/C, I'd say he lives in Canada.. as to where.. 25% chance says he lives in the greater Toronto area, but that's just a guess

welcome and enjoy

Yes about mth two mths of hot weather, but thats about it. 4-5 mths are nice temptures, about 5-6 are cold of which 2-3 can be extemlly cold. -15 -30.

I lived in Kingston the winters were a lot worst...OMG.......lasted longer too. I'm moving to TO maybe in autumn, at least thats what I been telling myself for the last few years.

I have never been that keen on air con. I find it too artificial. I had in the buick, I used maybe once or twice a year, I find i just open the window at around town speeds. If you on the highway just turn the fan on, 30C outside, it just feel warm, not unpleasant nor very hot though either. at you do not get that nasty hot shock at your body leaves air-con car, you know I find I feel even hotter getting out. nor does it zap the bloody power

Looks to me like you be buying some expensive stuff from the dealers soon. The whole point about buying a DX model is to avoid dealer installed equipment, otherwise, why not buy a EX then?

I bought my Galaxy Grey about a month ago and so far every time I'm about to drive it I get excited.
Since you live in Ontario I suggest you buy a set of those tinted licence plate covers from Canadian Tire ,the colour is a perfect match for our galaxy Grey cars! its like they were made specifically for them.

No, I'm just going to keep it stock, I'm unlikely to mod the car in anyway. Also I'm leasing it for $183 Taxes included per mth, so in 3 years, I got to paid 10K to own it out right, 6K for a new one, to keep the payment very low, so If I can't live without those creature comforts. I will sign up for a DX-G.

See I was looking for a used car orginally, I never intend to buy new. But 6K gets you a banger in Canada and 3 years, it be worthless, So I going to lose the 6k regardless.

so if I have to put down another 6 is not issues, it is only a a couple mth wages anyhow.

I brought what I wanted. this is what I wanted. I intend to keep the car until I run into the ground if I do decide to buy, by then it be worthless so won't matter that is a DX. so I feel I can't loose either way. I really took time and thought about this.

Also to be honest. I never used the A/C. so why have it, if don't use it. I might miss cruise but thats about it, its rare I drive up the highway anyways.
