The term "Rice"
Ok, so lately I've been hearing too much of this that it is so cliche and overly killed. This terminology has always irritated me whenever I hear it or see it. I love rice and I hate to see it fall into the wrong category. Since rice is very stereotypical towards the Asian descendants, I feel that when people use the term rice it sort of directs their intentions towards Asian people thinking we don't know any better ( this may not apply to you, this is just how I take it ). Now I know this whole thread is just about me bitching at something you may not think of it as a big deal, but I just wanted to spread my impression about it.
So if you want to be anti-rice, the next time you see a car or truck, specifically an import, that looks outrageously ridiculous, there are many other definitions you can use by calling it: junk, crap, shit, ugly, rubbish, wreck, fragments, litter, trash, offal, wreck, scrap whatever, just as long as it revolves around the definition of shit. Does anybody here concur. I sure hope it's not just me. ![]() |

Im chinese and the word rice doesnt offend me. It did when i first heard of the word...becuase i didnt know what it really was referring to.
But RICE isnt only for import cars although imports are the majority. Look in the RICE thread and you'll see alot of domestic rice. |

^My argument is not to it's extreme levels where I blame Americans, I'm just saying it sounds stupid and is a poor choice in vocabulary.
But I have to agree with you, America is a very ignorant country when it comes down to race. However, I feel that it is improving in a slow progress. *hah, I'm not dogging on Mexicans but what is it that Cubans and Puerto Ricans have against them? My co-worker is Puerto Rican and she hates it when people call her a Mexican. I'm not too familiar with the history if there were any. |

, IDK, there are other terms, but none as catchy as rice, its like saying you hit VTEC, its inaccurate, but its catchyanyways, about america and race, we have a long way to go, but we are one of the best in the world, at least we aren't like the middle east and trying to kill each other |
