title and reg on a new car

Obviously, i know tax on a new car is 6% of the purchase price. But ballpark, what is title, registration, and any other additional costs on top of the purchase price of a new car in PA? I'm finding a mere $22.50 for a new title and $36.00 for a new registration, but that's only $58.50... I thought all that crap was a few hundred? I'm planning on transfering my vanity plate, if that matters.

Also is tax added before or after the other miscellaneous fees?

Any other state can chime in, too... so I at least can get an idea.

$36 for registration!!!

Be glad you don't live in Nevada...a tad over $400 registration for the new Civic Si. Nevada has murderous registration fees (but no state income tax).

Eek... sorry bout that one! haha, but like you said, at least you don't have to suffer seeing that huge chunk suckin your paycheck dry every other week:rolleyes:

You can try looking up the vehicle registration fee calculator if your state board has one on their site like CA does.

Mine was about 70 bucks for title and registration and I'm in NYC. I used to live in PA and I think it was pretty close to being the same. It was about 80 for an SUV that I had.
