Money Talk's

I was at David Mcdavid in Irving TX today. They had a Fuji Blue SI Civic that was just delivered. There was a young person interested in buying the car. I started to talk to this individual. I stated to my that he offered the dealer $20,600 + TTL. He stated that the dealer agreed to this price, and he was just about to go into the finance office. Here comes another individual that offers the dealer $23,000.00 and I guess the dealer took his offer over the first customers offer. Here they are just finishing up the first customers deal and customer # 2 comes in. Whats wrong with this picture? Greed!!! If I was in the first customers shoes I would have been pissed!!! How in the he** are they just going to sell the car from underneath customer #1. Anyone in the DFW area I would stay clear away from David Mcdavid Honda in Irving TX. This dealer are a bunch of crooks. I would not recommend getting your car serviced there.

I second that.... David McDavid Honda in Irving blows!

I called them about getting an Si, and they literally laughed at me on the phone... I told them I wanted one by end of December, and while I realize that might've been a stretch, it wasn't impossible... That was about a month ago...

Bad way to do business....

Honda of Covington in Covington, Louisiana did the same thing to me, so I went to one of their competitors and bout the same car for MSRP.

While I was on the way to the other dealer, Covington called me to see if I still wanted the car because the other person's financing got messed up.

I kindly informed him where he could park it.

I ran into the same thing when I went and bought my EX last week. I'm only 18 years old so Dealer #1 treated me like shit. They wouldn't let me drive the car or anything. So I went to another dealer and bought the car from Dealer #1. I told them I would go pick it up myself. I laughted at the salesman when I arrived. He was showing my car to someone else when myself and the manager walked up to my car and put the sold sign on it. He was like, "You came back and bought it?" I said ,"Nope, I bought it from another dealership because you were an *******. I got it for less money too," The manager looked at the guy with an evil glare. Needless to say the customer he was with left quickly.

Im 45 and have steller credit. If I hadnt found Mark Roberts Honda in Bartlesville Ok. I would probly have bought a Ford 500 and a Fusion. For the simple reason the local Ford dealer is honest and nice to deal with.

I first started with trying to buy a Avalon. Local toy. dealers treatd me like crap.
so I went to the local Acura dealer. Hell with toy. I will get a TL. The 2 times I was there I was in my work boots, jeans and t-shirt. They wanted nothing to do with me. Profiled me and fig'ed I wasnt worth there time. Last time I went in to try and hammer a deal out they snubbed me again. The night before I got preappoved with Honda Finance for 50k. When they snubbed me I left a copy of the approval setting in a black TL I had been looking at. Man where they fast to call when that was found in the car. I let them have it and promised them they lost a TL and maybe a RSX sale because of there profiling nature. I then went and tried to buy cars from the two Honda dealers in Tulsa. God what a cluster ****. I had to bail from both of those dealers. They wanted to screw me sooo bad it wasnt funny. contacted a dealer in Norman Ok. They to started right out with the games. I had all but given up on Honda and Toyota when a buddy turned me on to Mark Roberts Honda in Bartlesville, Ok. Have bought two cars from them in 7 months. Fair, honest, and plesent to be around.

Dealers in Oklahoma that arent worth purchasing from. But worth a good old fashion drive by with a .50 cal. BAR!!

Don Carlton Acura: Tulsa
Don Carlton Honda: Tulsa
Joe Marina Honda: Tulsa
Jim Norton Toyota: Tulsa
Riverside Toyota: Tulsa

Possible future purchase.

Bob Howard Acura: OKC

Current dealer

Mark Roberts Honda: Bartlesville

I have complained of these dealers to American Honda and also when they call for the post purchase interview. Both times all comments where entered in the DB. In all the years of purchasing new cars Ive never ran across so many shady flat out thug dealers in my life. Im in sales,,, if i did my cust. base like these A-holes tried to do me... I wouldnt have custmers.

I also contacted dealers in western Arkansas and north Texas. The Texas dealers where flat out rude and loaded cars down with high dealer margin adders like protection packages, wheel locks, mud flaps and sun roof deflectors at insane prices. The western Arkansas dealers where nice and eager to sell. But packaged cars up like the Texigans and where ready to sell for a bit less than northern Texas dealers.

It was really a eye opener when I decieded my next two car purchase's would either be Toyota or Honda. Corprate should really knukle down on some of these dealers. Word gets around thanks to the net.

Sorry for the long post. I just hope it helps another in my area or gives a possuble buyer help in there area.

A dealer that can be counted on. http://www.markroberts.com

Yeah, I hate it when they profile...

And btw, 'there' refers to a place, not a possesion...

^^^....

I'm not too fond of Acura dealers either. I've never gone to a Honda dealer and had problems and the one around here is really great. They're not the closest but they're one of the best in NE so I'm happy. But whenever I take my Legend to the Acura dealer to get parts, they always give me this sh'tty look. Must be the baggy jeans, t-shirt and oversized earrings. I love when they label me. They're not used to the urban kind in these parts :)

Skittleslegend- I know what you mean when you go the the Acura Dealership. Most Acura dealerships are crooks like David Mcdavid Honda. Have you had the famous Legend problem with it overheating? I sold my Legend Coupe this last pass summer and it was a great car, but started to show its age and also did both HG's before I sold it. Macchurchill Acura in Fort Worth are very good people to deal with. I would clearly stay away from Vandergriff Honda or Acura. They're, I'd say 10 times worse than David Mcdavid.

Use any "there" you want,, sentence struture over all defines the intention. Funny how english is such a screwed up labled lang. Soon as folks start with the anal retintive spelling and gramer crap they go on ignore. I hope its likewise.

Nice stories guys. Yeah. That is messed up, but like anything else, remember they're bussinesses run by people. Would you accept less money now or more money now? Exactly...

When you're shopping, go shopping like you do for any other product. Go to different places, talk to different people, get prices and leave if you're not happy with the experience.

I guess I'll put in a good word for Kendal Honda here in Eugene OR.

I had great service from them, no hassle. The finance guy was new and made some mistakes, but he was honest and plesant. I will definitely go back there again in the future when I trade up to maybe an '09/10 Accord

Well then you won't mind me calling you an ignorant twit....

And sentence structure doesn't mean you can ignore the difference between 'there', 'they're', or 'their'... It just means you're stupid...

The point is that he's bitching about being looked down on by car dealers... If he talks as bad as he writes, then I don't blame them... He's posted this same story on like 3 forums, and its just worthless whining...

Habanero, Silver, chill guys. It ain't worth fighting over. If proper grammar is important to you, then lead by example. If not, then don't worry about it. Wether or not you are legibile is your problem.

After reading through this thread I'm thinking it might not be such a bad idea to start a forum dedicated to dealer experiences, recommendations, and denunciations.

Anyone agree? It would be valuable for prospective buyers as well.
