2008 Lancer - Pretty Nice Package

I just took a look over on Mitsubishi's site at the new Lancers and they seem pretty nice. I thought they were pretty ugly at first, but they are growing on me. The lowest trim starts at around 14,000. Lots of nice features too.

650 watt 9 speaker system with 10" sub
FAST key - when the key gets within 2 feet of door/trunk/ignition, the user can open the door/trunk or start the car, without leaving your pocket
Bluetooth Integration w/ voice commands
7" Navi w/ 30 gig HD and DVD playing capabilities (not while driving)
CVT
152hp@6000, 142tq@4250 - 2.0L I-4

Seems pretty nice to me and definately some nice competition to the Civic Sedan. Thoughts?

underpowered...to get all the features of an Si with Nav, you end up paying more and it still doesn't have the HP... plus its a Mitsu...rather have a Honda any day.

even though they have less HP, they are still pretty fast.

They are a bit more expensive..Si performance is on top, but pretty comparable to the EX and below trims. Look to probably be quicker and maybe more feature rich. A bit costy on the options, though.

Hmm...22/29 mileage estimates. Must be with new EPA standards. Comes in right around 3000 lbs.

i test drove the base model lancer.. man.. what a POS .. interior quality was crap... but then thats the base model.
and the auto is slow IMO

waiting till the GTS ones come in n test drive that n check out the interior n stuf.. apparently the stuff in it is bit better.. according to the salesman.. who really liked my civic

M'eh does nothing for me. I had a Doge Lancer (turbo and all), nice that Mits couldn't think of their own name for a car.

That would be it...I edited a link into my first post that takes you to it. The GTS looks nice with the spoiler, rims and exhaust tip over there others. Can't wait to see one on the road. They've grown on me a lot.

I'm considering the Evo X next year since the new imprezas are so damn ugly. When does evo X become available and offical? (besides concepts)

Sorry scooby impreza, your 08 shape sux, the lancer got it right this time, not to mention the EVO will romp the new STI, most likely on looks alone!

the lancer has definetly come along way. im impressed with the looks. the power on the other hand im not that impressed with. i was interested in test driving it until i heard the power ratings.

Very true but i guess thats what the EVO is for...it does look hot though
