Got My 06' Silver Si!!!
UPDATE!!! Pics in "Honda Civic Member's Rides Talk" Forum
I actually got my Si this past Saturday and have been to busy driving it to post something but all I can say is WOW!! This car performs better than I thought it would and is getting faster with the more miles I put on it. I got my silver Si with the HFP body kit and fog lights (no navi). I was planning on getting a navi but that's more luxury than I need. I’m happy with my steering wheel radio controls. At first I didn’t think the Si would look good with the HFP body kit but when I went to the dealership to look at it in person I completely fell in love with the car and then when I test drove it I was sold. The salesperson let me do a 0-60 dash shifting right before redline shirping second and almost third and he also let me take it to a curvy road just outside my little town in which I really gave my respects to Honda for putting an LSD in the Si, after we were done with the test drive the salesperson thanked me for the test drive ; ). The first thing you notice about driving this car is how easy it is to drive it. The tranny is so smooth and easy to operate. I had not driven a stick in 5 years and I thought I was going to stall the car at least once or grind a gear at least once but that has not happened yet and I already have 818 miles on the car. It did take me a while to get used to shifting so many times and I was having a hard time finding 6th gear. The tranny is smooth but yet it is still tuff taking down shifting really well. I found that launching in between 3000 to 3500 rpms gives you the best 0-60 results but im still testing. Although I like straight line racing my heart belongs to auto-x or the twisties which is the real reason why I got this car. If this car did not have an LSD I would probably not have bought the car. I also have a 94 toyota celica which I loved to take to the curves on the weekends and used to give motorcycles a hard time to catch up (don’t know how skillful they were) but the Si is on a whole different level. I still don’t know what it’s limits are since I haven’t had time to take it to Mulholland Dr out here in Cali but I have noticed that the DBW may actually help on the curves since the LSD applies the power to the wheel with the most traction which helps you not to oversteer. If you feel that the car is pulling out of the turn then just hit the gas a bit and the LSD will get it back in. The only problem the Si has is the junk in the trunk. The back of the car will occasionally tail out but the car is so predictable that this should never get you into trouble. The brakes in this car work great. I was thinking of upgrading to brembo but I don’t think I will need it any more since this car stops on a dime. The interior of the car is really solid and good quality and all the controls are in the perfect spot. I really like where they positioned the shifter, it’s ergonomically correct. I also like how the instrument panel has the temp gauge and it also tells you how much life your oil has left. The trunk is way way bigger than I thought it would be, and with both back seats lowered you really get some space to carry shit around. The seats are great, they are hard on the sides and soft in the middle, they hug your body so your not moving side to side when your in the twisties. I haven’t been in the back seat but my friends like the fact that it’s more roomy than my Celica. This car is the best car I have ever owned and I don’t plan to do much to it since it’s a great performer and looker right out of the box. I may do rims, CAI, exhaust and header. I’LL TRY TO POST SOME PICS TONIGHT. |

I know what you mean. I guess all the dealerships got the silvers first. I did want a black Si but I have a black Pontiac Grand Am that im going to sell and I dont want to deal with the visible swirls and the constant washing although I will keep my Si car in pimp status all the time.

Sorry guys, I will have pics in a few hours. I tried to take pics last night but it just didnt look right, besides the car is dirty now since it's been drizziling off and on all week so after my wash I'll get the pictures up.
I did forget to mention in my review that the PE2's are great tires. They grip really well and stick good on launches. |
