Thumbs up Best Place to Buy Oil - WalMart

Last night on Long Island I bought for my 06 SI the 4.73 quart jug of Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 5w-30w for $23.60.
For my daughters 02 Civic LX the 4.73 quart jug of Pennzoil Platinum Plus Full Synthetic 5w-20w for $18.67.
Great prices. Wanted to pass it on. Happy motoring.

They even have their higher end mobile one synthetic for about $29 and they sell Royal purple oil for 6.47 a quart I believe.

Best place to run off locally owned businesses and support overseas slave labor...Walmart.

I'd gladly spend a few more dollars then shop at that place.

I hate Walmart. I will also spend my money where it will actually help the local economy, instead of supporting an institution that drives single mothers, low-income families to the welfare system.

Those 5 quart jugs of Mobil 1 used to go for $19.99 at Walmart. Sucks that they went up a few bucks...but it's still a good price.

I thought they were 5 quart jugs not 4.73?

Ridiculous. Many of us seek to use the best products in our Si, and so I appreciate the OP letting us know where there are some decent prices on Mobil1 and Royal Purple.

Oil is a commodity - my money goes to the place that can provide it at the lowest price. Welcome to the free market economy.

Well Thank you. I just wanted to alert the Forum users as to what I thought was a goog price on premium motor oil. We can discuss the merits of retailers like WalMart till we are blue in the face.

At what price? Sweatshop workers getting $.20/hour? Child labor? Walmart's own employees that can't even qualify or afford their health insurance because of low pay? Open your eyes. Welcome to the real world.

I'm not attacking the OP at all. Just the blood-sucking, monopolizing corporations with ruthless tactics (on their competition, community, economy, and even their own workers)

I guess I do not necessarily agree with Walmart and their tactics. But BOTTOM LINE is that it saves myself and millions of other consumers money hence we shop there.

To the OP thank you for your contribution to the community.

This thread went way off topic. But I must admit amusing.

Off to go interview at Walmart for the job waiting for me.:gaygiggle

What you have to consider is what would the overseas worker be doing were it not for the factory job they now have. 20 cents an hour looks bad compared to the $30 per hour American workers would demand for the same job, but it does not look bad when compared to that foreign worker's alternatives. How else are they going to support themselves, their families.

If workers were paid the same there as here, there would be no jobs there, and then you would say Wal Mart, by switching to American factories, is responsible for killing the Chinese worker.

Anyone who has done any research knows that American unions want you to feel bad for the poor Wal Mart employee. But in reality, Wal Mart employees are often the same people who used to be welfare colletors. Mom and Pop, when their uncompetitive store goes out of business, do not go work at Wal Mart. Single mothers, the unemployed, the handicapped, these are the types of people who work at Wal Mart. Wal Mart takes people off of social assistance more than it puts them on it.

Wal Mart employees, on average, make around $2 more than minimum wage in most places. Plus, they profit share with any employee who works 1000 hours a year (that's less than 20 hours per week).

FYI - should Wal Marts across America unionize, the labour unions would be the beneficiaries of hundreds of millions of dollars in new union dues. Could this perhaps be behind their push to unionize rather than their care for the workers...

Oh for the hell of it I am going to give my .02... I freakin hate Wal-Mart. I may save a couple dollars or cents shopping there but is it worth to me. NO! Partially because of what they have shown to do to local economies (I have seen it happen it my hometown) but most of all I always leave there pissed off and frustrated!! I hate going into Wally World, the people, the employees... ridiculous. My g/f will not go in there with me anymore cause I usually end up bitching somebody out.

Edit:

Not because of overseas workers...
