Either SI or nothing...?

Is it worth getting a new 06 even though i cant afford the si? How do the lx's ride, handle, perform? Im really interested in them just need some help deciding.

I test drove the EX and loved it. Lot's of room, very comfy ride...was a little strange though. I kept speeding even though I didn't realize it. Took a few minutes of concentration to get used to it but after that, I had a blast. It should be worth mentioning that I had the test drive by myself. No salesmen, no gf, no distractions....til she frickin called. I was so pissed....what were we talking about? lol

Though I am getting the Si, I drove an EX just to get a feel for the car. Compared to my 2000 EX it was much more comforable, better ride, much better acceleration and handling. I have not driven the LX, sorry.

Wouldn't they both be about the same? Or is there a difference in powertrain and suspension?

LX (compared to EX) lacks one set of disc brakes and runs on steelies. I don't think there are any other handling differences.

I bought an EX and I love mine. I could afford the Si but I didnt want to wait or really spend the extra money in gas and insurance. The LX is a nice car dont let the Si ruin you having a nice civic. Trust me you will enjoy modding your LX!

I wouldn't waste my time/money on the Si, I don't know what all the hype is about, I read the specs on the car and I am not impressed. I bought a '06 EX Standard Coupe and it does great for what it is. I saw somewhere that the Si does 15.2 or something 1/4 which is nothing to be proud of. I don't think it is at all worth the additional initial purchase price/gas mileage/insurance money for the marginal gains that the Si gives you. If you want a performance car buy a performance car, not a Civic, not that there is anything wrong with the Civic, I really like mine.

I'm going to have to step up and actually agree. I bought my Civic because I owned one prior to this and loved it...for it's gas mileage and price. Now that the Civic has been redesigned, I also bought it for it's looks and practicality. Sure, you can buy the Si, put a few thousand in it for performance and styling mods...but you're still not going to have nearly the best car out there.
