Mitsubishi Evo IX Wagon
I saw this about a month ago but decided to share it with you peeps...
![]() From edmunds.com: TOKYO — With a blistering 0-60-mph time of fewer than 5 seconds and a top speed of about 155 mph, Mitsubishi's new Lancer Evolution Wagon has the makings of one of the fastest wagons in the world. Just launched in Tokyo, the Lancer Evo Wagon is slightly heavier and bulkier than the stellar Evo IX sedan on which it's based but is virtually as quick and a lot more practical for hauling people and their stuff. The Evo Wagon has the same compact, boxy, everyday Lancer wagon body that Mitsubishi offers in Japan, albeit suitably reinforced to cope with the extra power and formidable Evo four-wheel-drive dynamics. Underneath, you'll find the latest Evo IX 2.0-liter, turbo engine package (276 braking horsepower) and sophisticated, electronically controlled four-wheel drive. This beguiling high-performance wagon comes in two grades: a five-speed GT-A for $31,006 or a six-speed manual for $31,483. Mitsubishi says it is building only 2,500 units through December 2005. The bad news? All will be for Japan. |

looks, kinda....um....strange. but you can't deny 5 sec 0-60 time. Too bad it's Japan only. However, the wagon uses add-on parts, so it's not actually a completely new car. Mitsu just added some sheetmetal. If this takes off over there, we may see some conversions over here.
