XM + Sirius

I've read that XM and Sirius are merging. I was looking into buying either XM or Sirius, XM because my dad has it so I can get it cheap, and Sirius because it is actually commercial free and the music is better.

Now that they are merging I don't know whether I should get XM, Sirius, or just wait, I don't want to bite onto a long contract unless I know what I'm going to be getting, but the commercials on FM drive me crazy (plus there is no good music in my area) and I'm getting tired of the iPod and MP3 CDs

How does merger affect the listeners? Does it make our XM (or Sirius) only radios obsolete? Will Honda owners with factory XM be able to listen to Howard Stern? Will it cost more?

it sounds like they may go a la carte on the channels, so should I just wait for that, and if I don't, is Sirius worth twice as much as XM (because thats what it will cost me)
