GTO Woes

So on top of being a flop, the 2004-2006 GTOs have another massive problem that people are only just finding out about.

Take a look .

Damn, that sucks. Looks like they were in such a rush to get them out, they forgot to QC the whole thing. Sucks for GTO owners.

They apparently chose a wider tire size for the US release than the Monero used.

And they apparently didn't bother testing to see if it would have interference with the struts or anything.

GM is doing so much better...and then they take a hit every here and then like this that just makes me shake my head...

Basically, from what I'm gathering, Pontiac chose a more wide set wheel for the American GTOs, and didn't bother to check and see if there was any problems with using a wider tire.

As a result, the struts rubbed against the inside of the tire, and on some vehicles, literally shred the tire into two clean cut pieces. It's scary.

Pontiac claims they had no idea, which I think is complete bullshit. (Much like I think Honda probably chose to look the other way regarding odometer mis calibration, albeit not really a HUGE deal).

It's sad. I didn't like the GTO that much to begin with because it looked too "foreign" and I definately didn't like that it was from Australia.

Download the file, open it via Windows Media Player, it'll connect to the media, and play :)

It's basically an ASX file; kinda like a torrent.
