So happy i bought an k20 instead of an r18
So a couple months ago i was looking to buying a car since my 99 jetta (the jet) crapped out on me. My dad was telling me to buy a brand new civic lx but me being a sporty driver i wanted the Si. So an 07 fg2 is what I got.
Now my sister just bought a 2010 civic lx and i got the honor to drive it home from the dealership. As soon as I started driving it i was so happy i got the Si. Even though this was three years newer than my car it felt like a completely different car, in a bad way. The Si just feels 100 times better. So happy with my decision. |

I've driven the auto R18, manual R18, and K20Z3, and the K20 is really the only way to go if you want a racecar-like experience. |

Yea my sisters is an auto, and the base model with hub caps and all. It really does suck. I feel bad for her. It's funny cause she got that car on the basis of how much she liked mine. She likes it but says it just doesn't feel the same, not just power wise but everything else as well

Meh I didn't mind driving one for a week.
For reasons unknown to me, a few years ago when I bought my G my brother wanted to borrow it for prom...not sure why he didn't go the limo route like every other HS kid on the planet, but I let him, drove two hours to my parents house and let him take it and I took his EX and drove it for about a week. It didn't bother me at all. My biggest gripe was that I had to turn my head to back up instead of using the back up camera, but I chalk that up to first world problems and didn't care...particularly when it came to filling it up, $40 vs like $70. |

You can only name a few other cars that will rev to 8k or beyond from the factory and most are very expensive or exotics. |

I have an R18
but I'm not going to complain because a very large amount of people my age don't have cars at all or have older rusted-out ones. And the gas mileage is nicee. Can't race even a camry tho haha

^not really but it'll be close
Si has better gearing, and LSD, stiffer compliance bushings and better wheel/tire combo + brakes ie not that simple. to OP: congrats on making the right choice. K20 is perfect for what it was designed for. With the said the R18 is perfect for what it was designed for. If you want lazy, comfortable driving then with an Si you're only bringing out it's weaknesses. If you want quick, jack rabbit starts, high revs and quick shifting and handling, then you're bringing out the weaknesses of the R18. |
