I've actually been keeping track over the past couple months...

Been averaging about 28 mpg, which comes out to usually 310-330 per tank. I drive 80% highway @ 70-80mph...and I do hit vtec everytime I enter a freeway or take off to merge into traffic. I'd say the advertised mpg were pretty spot on.

Have 8000k on my SI at 5k put full synthetic Mobil 1, since then been getting almost 400 miles/ 650km per tank usually 9.3gallons/42L to fill so getting in the 40's most of time and not driving as a tender foot. I take the car into vtec at least once a day. But i guess its all in how you break your car in.

Use to have a 2002 Civic LX before this, I got insane mileage with that car also 52 mpg constantly.

I THINK HONDA SHOULD RECALL THE SI...

I have an si and i love it to death but i think honda should recall them because of the shitty gas mileage. seriousally, honda says their cars are fuel efficient but i myself along with others on the fourm are gettinm crappy mileage and its pathetic that i have to fill up like every 5 days!!

I have to disagree... I love my si and think that the gas mileage is awesome. If you wanted something with 35+mpg, maybe you should have chosen something else......

If you are concerned about getting good gas mileage, you should have went with the hybrid or DX/LX/EX.

What exactly do you consider shitty gas mileage? I get 25mpg normally and the car advertises 24/30 if I recall so I can't complain.

If you mean does the car keep track of it for you the answer is no. All you have to do though is reset one of your trip odometers when you fill up and then next time you fill up divide the distance you drove by the amount of gas you put into the tank.

why would you say that they should recall all si's, when it seem that you are the only one having a problem. Perhaps you should learn how to drive more effeciently.

you're not driving it correctly. either you're revving it way too high all the time. or you're shifting way too early that you're bogging the engine and giving it a hard time to turn over each gear casuing it to burn more gas. it just might be ur driving.

dont go over 4000 rpms and you will get good gas milage. ive noticed if you drive the car fast it doesnt get good gas milage but thats with most cars anyways.

I have about 12,000 miles on my EX coupe and I am getting about 36mpg when commuting to school with 70% highway and 30% city driving, on the highway I do about 65mph with the cruise control on. I used to drive closer to about 73mph and my mileage was quite a bit lower at about 31mpg. While at work on weekends i get around 30.5mpg with 80% city and 20% highway.
