I may get clowned on for saying this but I would def rock one of these as a daily driver then have a 370z weekend car.

If you can afford an Aston Martin, why in the world would you buy this?

It's a micro car! It's not going to come with a Aston Martin DB7 price tag. It will probably be competing with the prius and insight price point

I'm sure that current Aston Martin owners are just ecstatic that this is coming out.

I guess we'll have to wait and see but I imagine that Aston Martin wont ever make a $25,000 car as that would put it into a whole different group of cars, I'm sure they dont want to be seen as an inexpensive car maker. Just like BMW and Mercedes are reluctant to offer cash back incentives because they dont want their cars to be seen as cheap. I dont know but I imagine this car will be well past what is considered affordable for most of us.

I agree with most of what you said. However, I see it as Aston Martin trying to make a sub $18k micro car into a luxury/sports micro car. The article says its based off of Scion/Toyota's IQ platform. So your looking at a Aston Martin badged scion.

If it were to come in around $25k it would be the most expensive micro car out.

You can't drive your Aston Martin into downtown London.

This is a city car available to existing owners for use in the growing number of European cities that place restrictions on gas guzzlers.

Its also an effort to get the MPG of their line of autos up since Aston is on its own. Bugatti and Lambo have VW to bring theirs up, Aston doesn't have that luxury so has to figure out ways around the system.

Yep, it is a Scion/Toyota IQ rebadged.

Cygnet

I think this is going to dilute the Aston Martin brand big time.

It really shudnt because its only available to current owners of an Aston Martin car. They shud make it a pretty limited car.

I think this is kind of embarrassing for Aston Martin as a whole

Daimler-Benz didn't dilute the Mercedes image when they worked with Swatch to release the Smart line of cars.

Though, it wouldn't of been as dumb considering Mercedes sells cars across in just about every catagory.

They also rebadged them as Smart rather than including them under the Mercedes title

but in Cygnet form will be hand-assembled at Aston's factory at Gaydon in Warwickshire, England
means this car will never be cheap
