My Si....situation.

Well, i just received a call from my Honda Dealership telling me my build date is 12/14. So i am excited about this so far, as i placed my order in September and have waited for a few months to hear this news. My salesman proceeds to tell me that the car i ordered will be in early January, but will not contain the Navi option i requested in Sept. It will be NHBP as requested with the other options, but evidently Honda is having difficulities filling the Navi option. To say i am disappointed is an understatement, and now i need to decide if Navi is of upmost importance to me. Sorry for the long rambling, but i wanted to put this out there to see if others have experienced the same thing.

I had the same dillema. My fiji blue Si sedan w/ navi is slated for delivery in Jan and my salesguy was unsure about the navi as well. I received a call from a dealership that I was on a waiting list for a fji sedan no navi. That one just got off the truck today and I am going to go buy it today. The navi is sweet, but I realized the main reason I wanted it was because of the way it looked. To me the "looks" werent worth $1800. If you really want it, you can get it. Go to another dealer. I got a call for a galaxy grey Si sedan w/ navi just the other day. Galaxy is not my cup of tea..so I passed but they can still fulfill a navi order.

dude try with all your might to get the navi. the dealership might be feeding you bs about the "shortage" on the navi to cover there mistake when they placed the order. Now that might not be there fault on the no navi but i have contacts at a dealership that say that how some people cover there @$$.

Thanks for all the feedback!! I have thought about just about everything that has been listed. The good thing is the factor Navi split over a 5 year plan is not significant, but to buy and have professionally installed a Navi aftermarket is a large direct out of pocket expense. I have called around to a few dealerships ( I live in Williamsburg, VA) the closest dealership with a NBP w/navi available is in New York. Man this is frustrating......

Ya they may be trying to cover up a mistake on the navi. I placed my order Oct 20 and received my build date a couple weeks ago. I originally ordered my Si w/navi and was told nothing about there being a shortage on the nav. Sounds like they're trying to get you into their mistake. Hold out! I wouldnt take it!

keep the extra 1.8k and buy a nice portable gps unit by garmin...and purchase some mods :)

That's what I did! I wanted white with navi and ended up getting it w/o navi when one came in. Garmin's Site

I have the StreetPilot i5 and absoutley love it. the screen is small but I've got good eyes. the directions are great. I'd get the c330 if I were to buy again b/c of the touch screen and slightly bigger lcd.

good luck and bummer about the navi

I'd look at the :
