project

so me and my cousin were thinkin about doin this as a pass time project. lets say we get a car with the same amount of space in the trunk and hood, then we get two motors say maybe 2 r18 motors and put them in the trunk and hood. possible? i think so. gonna take some time and effort. but i think its possible. or maybe put a RWD in the back and an FWD in the front? please give me possitive fead backs if possible.

Thats going to be one heck of an undertaking, the mechanics of it alone would make me want to cry, and then the electronics involved with the R18 engines would be a nightmare, but if you can pull it off all the more power to you

Yea, it was a Tiberon GT with two turbo charged V6's. It was doing all wheel burnouts!

I think they did this with a Cadillac one time too. The sheer engineering involved is mind numbing for a project like this. Major issues you just *might* run into:

-Gas tank goes where?
-When I push on gas pedal, will engines engage at same time and have exactly matching rpms?
-Brake upgrade to manage additional weight of engine and transmission
-Etc, Etc, Etc,

Heres a cool idea: 88 civic + chevy 350 + IRS = cheap fun.

That is going to take alot of Engineering to pull off...

It has been done before like was said with the Tiburon. Also there has been an Audi TT with twin engines and in my area there is a VW with 2 VR6's in it. Looks damn sweet.

If you have the money and the patience, would be a sweet ass project!

Good luck!

+1 I really don't think it's worth it unless you are more in to the ooohh aaahhh show scene. If you want to build a fast car go with a single motor and build the shit out of it.

+1 again but if it's for a racecar the point is questionable. I think it would be more interesting to make a FF car into AWD. :)
