so when....

can i start hitting redline? jw because in the manual it says do not go wot till 600mi and now i'm at almost 1k. do i wait till 5k miles or can i sometimes go into higher rpm without breaking anything? also the oil life thing. does it drop by 10's? because i took it on a 3 hour trip and when we got to our destination the oil life went to 90%.

I started to redline it when it still had 400 miles.

My damn brother redlined it the day I got it. He said "Let me drive it, I wont do anything stupid." A few minutes later, I hear tires screeching. That bastard!

yeah that's what i was thinking too, 5k is just soooooooo long. but there shouldn't be any major problems just because i take it to redline right? i mean i know how to drive but the only thing i'm paranoid about is the car would be TOO EXPENSIVE if something happens. if it drives and handles the higher rpms like the b16's b18's then there shouldn't be a prob.

okay cool, yeah when i went in and got it, since i was late for delivery (11 am and i woke up at like 1 pm) they said i couldn't get it anymore and will have to make another appointment. so i decided to go in anyways to test drive it. i redlined the car in second and third, then after the test drive they just said i could get it then if i wanted to. i told them they said i was late and was already going to go to another dealership that had the exact same car (which helped lower the price a lil hehe). okay it's good to know thanx guys!!!! ohh another thing is, i haven't really noticed this but just a while ago, the security light (the one on the cd player) flashed and then another red light on the dash flashed. are there suppose to be 2 flashing lights when the car is locked and off? jw, up till now i've only been seeing the red light on the cd player console.

The radio light is an anti theft device. The ne near the speedo is the alarm light which is on when activated. It also doubles as a shift light when driving

Now that you've hit 1k miles you can drive it however you want.
