On my way home today, I was just cruising on Indian Head Hwy, and I see this SVT Cobra one of the 90's models. There was some traffic so I end up passing him slowly and he looks over and grins. So I'm minding my business, bumping my music and he revs at me. Lmao... +1 point.. As we get close to an intersection I him him downshift and floor it for like 3 secs as he passes by me....+1 point...And then we come up to a light with several cars in front of us. He has room to pull up passed me but he decides to stop right next to me.... +1 point

I look over and grin back at him then he grins back and starts shaking his head. He looked pretty young. maybe my age or a little older. So then the light turns green and I take off slowly and he does to.. but then revs a few times and drops it into gear and screeches off in between cars let me tell. He was in the middle lane and there were cars on both sides of him, and went he dropped it into gear he lots traction a lil bit and then of course he slowed down +1 point...

Meanwhile I eventually pass him again and he gets caught up in traffic. At the following light, I'm going straight but I see him in my rear view and he's gonna go make a left. I'd say he's about 15-20 car lengths away from the light, as its turning yellow and this guy is flooring it, of course the light turns red so he has to slam on the brakes to stop. +1 point...

I hope he had fun because I sure did laughing at the idiot. Mustangs are teh kewl boiz n gurhlz hahhaahahaha

I raced an old school mustang like that two days ago.

I was in a hurry to get home so I was doing speed limit and not wasting time to meet speed limit and we both met at a red light.

The light turned green and I see and hear him gun it so I floor it and now I'm about half a car length ahead of him and I walk him all the way to the next light where I had to slow down and make a right turn.

It was a nice kill :)

True, even a regular mustang gt will eat an Si, but those regualr mustangs v6 are nothing for the Si, or even the R18 i beat 2 on my R18, one was a 97 model and the other was a 2002.. both auto.

na bro he said svt cobra.. and even the GT's will still romp on a SI.. The SI is not built for a street machine.. ITs a fast car with good gas mileage and great handling.. the V6 mustang is the only one Si will get after.. A built honda is a different story.. But ya i wouldn't race to many GT's unless they are garbage behind the wheel or you have the SI on a bit of happy juice

Overall, I'm a Mustang fan. I don't like the new one though. For the money, you can't beat a 96 SVT...~7k for 305 hp.

I have to agree here.... I love working on cars, Thats all I seam to do sometimes. And the cars I tune on most is the mustangs. My friends 99' cobra is all stock and go's 12 flat in the 1/4. Thats while lifting the left front tire 6". And yes it was on slicks but drive train and engine is all stock. With small shot of NOS it went 11.3 . I dont think an SI would do that on a stock set up. And before you say it will with a build up. One mustang we have built up went 7.90 at 186mph. Had about 1800rwhp with 32lbs of boost from a procharger F4. And yes the 7.90 car was a street legal door slammer.

i would have asked him to keep that shit at the track. revving/racing/beating on american cars on public roadways is just dumb. they can break down and cause traffic jams or blow up and spew oil all over the road. someone could get injured.

dumbest comment i have ever heard. the 99 cobra was the slowest cobra to date and your stating it can lift a front tire. not to mention an irs rear end. what a ******* joke.

12 flat in a 99 cobra? sorry buddy, 03-04 terminators barely catch 12's. 99 cobras are known to not even hit 13's.

theres 500-600hp 03-04 cobras on slicks at dragway 42 and norwalk raceway that run 11's and they dont pull the front tire or tires off the ground. amazing you say that a 300hp 300 lbft mustang can lift a tire.

the 99 slowbra is even a joke when tested by a stang magazine...

Exactly! I used to have a 2001 GT and it would go 12.5 in the quarter! Beat corvettes and vipers all day long! Plus it got 35 mpg!!

PFFFFT! Please, a 99 Cobra that pulled 12's stock? I've only seen it once and I've been off cocaine ever since.
