How long are you going to keep it? It does take quite a while to make up the difference in price in mpg especially since the normal civic is so frugal. What would be the reason for buying? If for $$ savings at the pump, not sure it's worth it, if it is to do the little extra for the environment then that's up to you. In general the car is nice, would I buy one again, probably not, but I don't generally hold on to cars for long, so the economic side really doesn't pay off then.

Just my .02

I've heard a lot of reviews say that the gas mileage received was in the range of the regular 1.8L engine non-hybrid Civics, and that having the hybrid Civic was mainly a "green person's" conscious working or something.

That said, I'm sure you'd like either, but keep in mind the regular Civic gets 30/40 (and the estimates for the Hybrid from most reviews I've seen put it at 40ish miles per gallon. Also, I feel like the interior (except the climate control/cassette (it does have that, right?) is kinda a bit uglier, the seats are a weird color, and the rest of it is beige, I thought.

You should really test drive both an R18 DX,LX,EX Civic and a Hybrid to get a feel for what you'd like.

Then you even have the "anti-green" people saying hybrid cars are not saving on the environment since you have to dispose of all the crap in the batteries when they go.

I think the magnetic pearl color is awful. If you dislike the galaxy gray, why do you think you'll like the magnetic pearl?

I dont like the sedan that much,, i mean,, it does look nice,, but I like the coupe much better,, the tail is what is purty,, but I do really like hybrids,, and not just because you get better gas mileage,, its better on the earth ,, uses less of the earth's resources,, idk,, more of a prefference call there :],,

What are your intentions of getting the Hybrid, solely for emissions and gas purposes? I don't see much of a point if it's for the gas mileage. I highly doubt the Hybrid will put out numbers substantially higher than the DX/LX/EX. The loss you'll lose from the trade in will account for all that gas money you'll save over who knows how long.

But hey, if you're an environment freak, then all the power to yah!
