Noble M600-Enzo killer

From Autoblog: No climate control. No sat-nav. No ABS. No ESP. What the Noble M600 lacks in luxury and safety amenities it makes up for in raw, mechanical brutality. And you know what? That's okay.

With curb weight of 2,810 pounds, a row-your-own six-speed manual and 650 horsepower and 618 pound-feet of torque on tap from its Volvo-sourced, twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8, the M600 is a purist breath of fresh air in an era of tech-laden, heavyweight supercars. But stats (0-60 in three seconds, top speed of 225 mph) only tells half the tale.

Clarkson and the crew take the all-new, £200,000 Noble around the Top Gear test track and the results are predictably deranged. Not only does the traction control only have two settings – on and off – but keeping the mid-engine beastie in check proves too much for TG's ham-fisted frontman. That means it's a job for the Stig. VIDEO: Noble M600 attempts to kill Clarkson, embarasses Enzo — Autoblog

It's the perfect track car. A set of nice slicks and it'd be unstoppable. Sure, Clarkson couldn't handle the car with traction off, but he's an oaf behind the wheel. M600 seems perfect for anyone looking to work on finding the perfect line on a track.

Unlike the McLaren-Mercedes SLR, this car isn't designed for Paris Hilton.

Cool car. But is it really worth $320,000? Not even close.

is the LF-A worth the $340k?Nope.
But atleast the M600 is a no bullshit beast that will eat your children. Its lighter, faster and F-I which means noble, or some tuner will have something to make it even more crazy fast. I'm glad someone is still out there building supercars that aren't filled with leather and gadgets, nut massagers and espresso machines. Noble didn't waste time or money on that, they focused on handling and performance, things that actually matter in this range. This my favorite car since the Pagani Zonda C12 S/F

Well good thing that there are plenty more choices out there besides the Noble and the LF-A.

I agree that it is a great car. I'm just saying that asking $320,000 is way more than ridiculous for this car. Can you honestly say that a turbocharged Volvo engine in a stripped out, light weight car is worth that much? If all you want is a car that goes from 0-60 in 3 seconds and a top speed of 225 mph, you could easily have one for a 1/3 of that price.

I remember the thread, but this one with Top Gear is so much cooler. The video was a blast to watch, hence the new thread.

Sounds like it should be taking on the McLaren F1, not an Enzo.

Beauty in the eye of the beholder and all that, but if the Noble is a kit car then so is the Zonda.

But the Zonda has so much presence. It shouts supercar. The Noble, not so much. You need to drive it to truly appreciate it. It's not eye candy like the Zonda.

I think what appeals to me is the rawness of the Noble. While maybe not having the "presence" of the Pagani Zonda, it is a purebred car for both the street and track. In the video, it was noted that the car has a level of docility, yet it was somewhat maniacal on the track, taking someone of the Stig's driving acumen to exact the most performance out of it.

Alas, I will be most fortunate if I can just see one on the street, let alone drive one or own one. I should have been born rich...

its just a volvo motor. Who cares, besides volvo doesn't make it, yamaha does. No one complains that the 4.6L ford motor found in the GT500, Ford GT and the basis of the Aston Martin V8 vantage is just a mustang motor with some work done. Or the Pagani motor is just a massaged Mercedes v12 from the 90's. Original motors are expensive to develop, I'd rather the Yamaha boat motor (Porsche did the same thing with the 928 v8 in 78-79) thats been around for along time, plenty of parts when I twist something while running way too much boost.

Fact is people that are buying a 300k+ supercar probably have another sports/super car or an entire stable. The noble is one of the more special of them, unlike the new lambos and mercedes mclarens.
