Just personal experience. I admit that it works great in repelling water, but these are my personal gripes: 1. Easy to put on, but not as easy to buff out. You really need to put a lot of effort into buffing to get all the residue off. 2. Enhances night time glare from headlights and for me, reduces night time visibility. Not much, but it's there. 3. When the Rain-X wears off, blades really start skipping. 4. When Rain-X wears off, you really should take off the old Rain-X before you apply the new coat of Rain-X, which for me is more hassle than what the benefits are worth. These are just my own opinions based on my own personal experience. I've asked asked other automotive professionals what they think about the windshield wiper skipping problem on my other cars. 90% of the time they'll recommend to take Rain-X off and just clean the windshield with a high quality glass cleanser. One professional recommended using a glass cleanser that bars (as in drinking liquor bars) use to clean their glasses, though the name of the product escapes me.
