Why did you buy your Si?

So just tell the reason why you chose the Si over all the others.

For me:
-I only make 30k a year
-Honda
-affordable
-197 hp, 2.0 L engine
-very sexy look-int. & ext.
-6 spd
-good gas milage
-and last my wife made me buy a new car:)

Its because I wanted one...

Can I afford it? Probably not because I'm not working right now.

I really need to find a job soon or else: we all know what happens to SI.

I was about to buy a 3 series or IS350 (even considered an RSX and a Subaru) when I learned about the new Si. Once upon a time, I owned an '85 Prelude Si and I loved that car. I decided to have a little fun and give in to a nostalgic impulse and got the Si.

Its a fun little car for me, though I'll probably pick up another car early to mid next year and keep the Si for 'fun'. Between the Si, the Pilot, the project Jeep, and the F350 I have too many cars parked at my house...but what's one more?

I'm a Honda freak and have been driving only Hondas since '98. I've wanted the new FG ever since it first came out as a concept early 2005.

Because it's sexy-cool, and nothing else is close for the price.

I wanted an '03 S2K but couldn't afford the insurance on it.

Ah well, I'm happy with my little econo-racer. :)

for me....

Well I own a couple of hatchbacks and love honda's.. I need a daily driver because the two hatches I have have B20 blocks and well are just not that street reliable (or legal). I actually went and test drove a sh*t load of cars and when i got to the SI for a test drive I was sold.. I think the biggest selling factor is the LSD that comes stock for me.. It might be my daily driver but I like to smash on it on the way to work and the weekends.. I needed something that would still be fun, but reliable.. Kudos to Honda for the SI

Add 10k, great handling, and subtract the wife and we're on the same page.

One of the same reasons I wanted one. Plus,

I wanted a car I could modify the bahoogies out of, that was damn fine to look at, and they don't make the Prelude anymore.

I bought it because I needed a car, my last car was stolen and wrecked.
Here are some pics when it was in running condition:

I was moving to so-Cal for work and needed to exchange my pickup truck, used for light hauling neighborhood runs, for a sensible car to drive on LA freeways. I got interested in the '06 Civic. Then looked at the Civic coupe. Then wanted options, a good stereo, nice wheels, etc., then realized what I really wanted was the hot new Si, even though it's in a higher price range.

As I read the reviews--it had just been introduced and was getting unprecidented praise from automotive writers--I got seduced, completely, I was helplessly in love with this car, and had to have one. Three weeks later (I know, pretty fast considering how hard these are to get in some regions) I was driving my GG '06 Si out of the Honda Dealership in Seattle, and a few days after that, heading down the coast to L.A.

Without a doubt, best buying decision I ever made. Got great trade-in value for my Toyota Tacoma, too, which had low miles. The whole exchange was painless. As the months went by, my love for this car only increased. I really felt like I was at the right place at the right time. Driving in L.A. has been a blast. I can compete effectively with cars that cost almost twice as much money. And I enjoy getting admiring looks, since they're still pretty rare on the road, even here in L.A.

Nine months later, love and admiration has blossomed into insane passion, it's without a doubt the best car I've ever owned, and the most fun driving experience I've ever had.

I wanted an Si ever since I was 17 and a friend of a friend showed me his 2000 electron blue Si, at that time (2002) that Si was impossibe to get since they where all wrecked and/or stolen( he ended up getting that one stuck under a chevy SUV too), the ep3 I was not impressed with at all, but as soon as I saw the concept for a new Si coupe I HAD to have it.

I was really going to get a Tc since I was in the market for a new-cheap car. for some reason I couldn't talk myself into buying one (talked my brother into it though) and then . ...I saw it. Sitting there at the ony Honda dealer in Roswell. Sat in it, smelt the newness, started it and then went home and got more info. I found this site and it sold me, the next day I went in and signed the papers!

I had an RX-7 Turbo II and a Galant VR4 - both in great condition, loaded with mods and running deep in the 12's. They were however, a handful to maintain together and required too much of my time...I just wanted something new.

So, I found a brand new 04 HFP Civic SI in early 2005, as a leftover, for a SWEET deal and I decided to ditch my older cars. I loved the styling and it was a blast to drive with a few basic mods...

However, when the FG came out I couldn't resist the better powertrain in the sexy new coupe - so I sold the EP and here I am :)
