Nurburgring+ 500hp EK4 + Rotas = warped wheels

Here's the link to the original post.

Nurburgring+500hp ek4+rota - Honda-Tech

Rear Wheels for comparison:

Front Wheels:

Yes, they're the same type of Rotas. The acceleration/lateral Gs + extreme heat from the brakes apparently caused it.

you also have to show the back side of the rim where the brake caliper hit the actual rim. Which i would think weaken the rim. Not defending rota rims b/c they suck just listing the facts.

WTF the caliper should not be touching the wheel under any circumstances. Where did you see that?

the first one shows where the warped wheel rubbed. i dont see any issues with the one that didnt warp.

Its hard to say the fronts usually have bigger calipers also.

ahhh.... true... but if it was too big calipers, wouldn't it rub on both spokes? the fact that it only rubbed on the one makes me think its from the warping

Unhappy

You did not because the second rim kept its structural integrity and did not "sink" inwards to make it rub against the caliper!... Dah!

There's no way the calipers were rubbing the wheel prior to wheel deformation. The way the spokes warped on the track definitely caused the caliper rub.

Warping -> rubbing. Looks like the wheel failed.
