Storing Your SI in the winter?

For everyone that lives in a state that experiences snowfall, will you be storing away your precious SI for the winter? I have seriously been considering doing so. I was going to buy a junker, but it'll just cost more money for insurance. We have a 94 jeep cj5 that we're fixing up, so hopefully it'll be ready by winter so I can drive that(its actually pretty nice, lifted with some big ole tires, which would probably have to be taken off for the winter)

I bought the Si because I sold my 99 Firebird (couldn't drive that in snow) and my brother needed a car, so I gave him my old Grand Am GT.

I don't have a choice, but considering I'm in college, and I use a bus pass/ bike to get to campus due to the shitty parking on campus. I will, however, try not to get caught in slush or snow. Snow may be okay on the highway, as long as it isn't that mix of road shit, salt, and snow, mixed into slush. So I'll be as careful as possible.

My Si will be my daily driver. That means I'll be driving it to work every day, even when it snows.

I plan to tank her up and leave mine under the Honda car cover the first sign of snow & salt. But I'll peel the cover away from the exhaust and let it idle every other day (so I won't need gas stabilizer, right?). Winters in NY suck because of the snow, ice, and tons of sand & salt. I'll use the Altima for short trips to the train and the Elantra GT for longer trips when the weather isn't so bad (mostly because it has traction control). $350/month is alot to pay for a car that doesn't move in the winter but I see it as protecting my investment (depreciation is bad enough but a rusty car that's been banged up is even worse).

youll still need stabilizer, the fuel degrades over time. fill it to its max and pour sta-bil in the tank.

Will that make the car idle weird and mess up the o2 sensors?

We all have an affinity for our cars, but to call a mass produced Civic precious.

NOW, this car is PRECIOUS...

http://www.getnet.com/~edg/rodeo/33dusey.html

It carried a price tag of $20,000 and developed 320hp in 1933(!) during the height of the Great Depression as only one was ever built! That was f-ing balls.

Most developing countries couldn't afford this car today.

idle and run bad, yes. ruin o2 sensors, not sure. but lets not find out. :)

just make sure you use stabilizer , keeps the gas from degrading and keeps water from developing in the tank (making sure the tank is full keeps water out too).
