Do Armorall Interior wipes hurt the paint!?
Stupidly, i used an Armorall interior wipe on my hood to get off the remains of a dead bug. It left swirl marks but i washed the car after and it came off...but will it cause permenant damage to the paint...what should i do?

also it shouldnt hurt to bad if it makes any difference at all since you washed the car afterwards. gl

No, I doubt it will, unless you left it on there over an extended period of time or in the hot sun.
I've heard that's a decent way to remove bugs from the front, although whenever I take a road trip, I grab my bug and tar remover out of the car supplies in the trunk when I get to my destination, spray it on, spray some anti-brake dust on the wheels, and get a car wash, to hold it over until I can detail it again. Remember, the longer you let ANYTHING sit on your car, the harder it is to get off, and the more it will be baked into the paint.

Armor-All wipes are bad for any interior. Why? Because while it cleans, it doesn't let the plastic breathe. The protective layer ultimately can lead to your plastic cracking. Doesn't happen immediately, but over time it stresses the plastic.

The current formulation of Armor-All is no more harmful than Meguiar's, 3M or any other beloved brand of auto wipes. Enthusiasts have been using vaseline for years in their dashboards without cracking; so "breathing" is not an issue. TopSpeed |
