You are assuming that Nissan did test and ship cars which are identical to the stock cars currently offered in the US. Therefore, Porsche must be "make(ing) a completely baseless statement, then droves of people take their word for it. It's ridiculous."

Nissan says the car was stock, you are taking their word for it. Porsche is saying the car was not stock based on the car they got ahold of. Some people are taking Porsche's word for it. Same thing. You just have a problem with one of them....when you get it......you'll.........you get the rest.

Porsche basically needs to make a 911.....which has to be better than the C GT which covered 200 meter less

Not sure A. what is funny and B. that would assume the Nissan GTR time was from a stock car. Which is what is in question here.

what "proof" are we talking about here? there is no way to prove that the car in question wasn't tuned or tweaked at this point. end of story.

No, AGAIN I will try and explain this. Porsche claims to have a GTR. They claim they have been running it with their Turbo and GT2. Porsche claims they are coming up with numbers which would put that GTR 25 seconds slower then their claimed Ring number if it were stock. They think with the correct tires their number on the ring could be possible with a stock GTR + tires. Get it?

Also, I am going to try and help you out with your argument. Go back to page 5 of this thread and read the post where I have Nissan's response to Porsche. Read the whole thing, maybe read the Porsche allegation again as well. Set an egg timer for 5 minuites. Then make a rough draft of your argument, check it for sentence structure and grammar and then post it.

7:50 BMW X5 E53 LM Hans-Joachim Stuck 2000 'EVO' magazine (08/2005), BMW M70 S70B56 engine from a V12 LMR producing 750 bhp[citation needed]
7:50 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera S Horst von Saurma Sport Auto (08/2008), PCCB, PDK, Sport Chrono Plus, Michelin Cup tires
7:54 Mercedes CLK DTM AMG Sport Auto (03/2005)

7:55 Caterham R500 Superlight Robert Nearn 'EVO' magazine (07/2000)
7:55 Ferrari F430 F1 Horst von Saurma Sport Auto (01/2006)

that would mean, the GTR would stand no chance in the TOP GEAR track.... or any track for that matter

but damn I didnt see this properly though

seems like Porsche has sum evidence also

Can't wait to see the price of the GTR drop if Nissan admits cheating

or if Porsche is trying to save itself......

Using the wrong tires on the GT-R. Fail. Next time, they should actually use the Dunlops instead of heavy Bridgestone runflats.

I still don't get how the GT-R is that fast.

Someone needs to arrange a test where the ZR-1, ACR, GT2, GT-R V-spec (should be out in 6 months or so) and any other car company with balls gets together and settles this.

Well...I still don't get how independent magazines got better times with the GTR.

Top Gear, RT, and the few magazine videos on utube

+

After Porsche's claim, some of the mags are now getting slower times.
