Just me?

Is it just me? Or are the gts of our time considerably slow? While tooling around on a road trip - Me in my si, my friend in his 98gt stang, and my other in a 1999 Camaro Ss. It was a long trip with alot of back roads- and even in the straight line my si seemed to pull on them slightly.

I've autocrossed in the si before so i kno thats nothing like a straight shot- so i took my si up to the strip. I was completely blown away at the fact that all these bulky v8s had their work cut out for them keeping up with me. Stock v8s that is- there were a couple pretty heavily modded and thats a completely different story.

But yes- I never seemed to be able to do any of this in my old h22a lude, that had about the same horse as the si. Is it just old age? And has anyone else experienced this? I thought it might have been driver error the first couple times i started walking on them, but all these other drivers cant possibly all be bad??
