Question LX trade in for SI? how much am i expecting to lose

It has been bugging me for the last couple months to trade in my 1 year old LX for a new si. I know i should be happy with my LX since I'm only a 19 years old working a part time job but after all my friends said how much more fun the si is, it just kills me.

So can anybody tell me how much am I expecting to lose for this trade in if anybody had done this before? and how about the insurance rate, how much of an increase should i expect (I am a 19 years old paying about almost 200 a month for insurance on the r18).

any suggestion or advice will be gladly taken, thx guys

Why not keep your car and add a turbo for less than $3k?

You'll be as fast or faster for much less...

I traded in an 06 EX Coupe for an 08 Si Coupe back in January

I got 15k for my trade-in (owed 14k) and Got the Si for 25k OTD (yes, tax, title, reg, everything)... with HFP lip kit, OEM fogs, day/night mirror, extended warranty. Used the 1k left over from my EX and another 1k down.... so i financed 23k @ 6%.

My payments for the Si are $30 more per month than my EX and my insurance actually went down.

hahahaha, if we talkin about 20 dollars more a month, i guess its not that bad, but i saw the 28k total after finance for a si, i'm about to faint

so i'm discussing this with my dad and see what he thinks, hope me luck guys?

Also not really into turboing my car, its my daily commuter and i travel about 50 miles a day, it would suck if i get some bad mpg, and the si isnt that bad on gas so i guess i will be cool.

Yes i don't drive nor think like a 19 years old when driving, i don't know why i want mileage over power and safe and sound instead of fast and furious. But the si is fun

Hi, i was going to do that at one point with my LX, but the dealer was trying to give me only 13k for my car and it was only 1 year old and only had about 5k miles on it, i said no and walk away.. So they where trying to give me 13k for my car and the Si was about 23k OTD that was a 10k difference.. so i don't think it was worth it..

Am now turbo and the gas milage is not bad at all, i manage to get 380 miles on my last tank of gas doing 90% city driving.. i don't go boosting all over the place.. so the gas milage is the same as stock if you drive it regular.. Just something you might want to think about if your dad will not let you trade your car in..

haha....im in the same boat......

every 2 days im like i shd sell my lx and get a used 2007 Si....but tax title and shit hurts...

Test Drive an Si, sell the lx privately for 16k......and get a used one for 19k...20ish k miles.....just be careful of the thrid gear issue.

Its also free to get an insurance rate quote !!

sucks that I dun live in texas ....

yea i'm thinking about selling the lx privately too if things really come down right. But what do you guys think of the RSX type S, anybody ever owned one or drove one? i was never too fond with 2 doors cause travel a lot but the RSX looks good and its got a similar engine to the SI.

the interior of the RSX also look boring compared to the civics, but tell me what you guys think!

also any good forum like 8thcivic for rsx?

i went to the clubrsx.com, and it seems to be a sales website for honda/acura, they don't have a forum like 8thcivic????

lol as long as its fun to drive, i don't think an inferior performance to si would matter to me much, cause that's what im really looking for, just fun to drive. The LX is fun but its torqueless to the point where if i was driving behind me, i would wanna honk at myself, and its engine is not meant for pushing
