I dont mean to rain on anyones parade here, but the new style of the Corolla isnt really all that polarizing compared to the Nissan SER Spec V

Ive included an 09 Matrix XRS as well... Looks better than the f'ing ugly Subaru WRX hatch...

Seriously, drive the two back to back. You won't want the corolla.

I drove a Mazda 3 as well. I would have gotten a 3 if it's fuel economy was on par with the Honda. It handles and drives the best of the bunch.

Everything is a compromise. The Civic landed right in the middle with really good handling, good MPG's, good looks, nice interior room and excellent resale value.

do you think this late in the game it would be wise to purchase a civic? I mean the civic has maybe another year and a half, and then a new body comes out.

2011 is the next body restyle. Honda is 5 years unless I'm mistaken.

I thought this new body came out in 2006.

So 2006 year 1
2007 year 2
2008 year 3
2009 year 4.

And I can't remember any civic lasting 5 years.

Corolla Pro's
The Corolla xrs looks better in the front IMO. More torque for around town driving, interior materials are NOT as cheap as they are in the civic.
Corolla Con's
Less overall interior room than the civic ( only matters fi you are tall like me 6.6)
Slower than the si, only matters if you race, and then you shouldn't be looking at either car.
Cost is pretty high(xrs form) Granted the Si/or civics in general, cost too much imo for what you get. (especially compared to a mazda 3)

Meh I could continue but I'm sure you already made up your mind.

I like the new Corollas, but they weren't out when I needed a car in late 2007.

I wouldn't consider the Mazda3 though...not as good MPG.

I like the new XRS... Its up to you buddy...

The Si is a high reving car... I personally love it, but for some people, like my fiance, i may soon have to make a choice between my car and my future wife...

I'll tell you why....

Drive a Corolla "s" haha. S must stand for subpar. Honestly I'd rather whip around in an R18 than the stupid yoda anything....except the supra :)

I was on my way with a friend to go and pick up a Corolla. He then asked me why don't I try the civic, we were still early so I decided to give the Civic a try. After I tried the civic, i was hooked. Although the Civic is 2k+ compared with the Corolla, I decided to bite the bullet and go with the civic. IMO it was well worth the extra 2k+ spent.

Alot of arguments can be made that the Scion Tc is feminine, that the Corolla is feminine, hell ive even heard that the Civic is a girl car...

But, again the Si is far more powerful than the Corolla XRS or Matrix XRS...

civics look like 100x better. The civic imho is the best looking economy small car on the market right now.
