Didn't Top Gear race that against the last gen Type R and the new one lost? They said it was heavier and had cheaper suspension.

i think those hatches are hideous

they're also inferior suspension wise.. especially in the back from what i've read

: Type R reliable? - Civinfo
this made me laugh
" think that most of the problems have been with earlier civic models.

I've had my Type R for 7 months now and done over 4500 miles. Overall i'm very pleased with it.

I did have a slight problem with 3rd gear which seems (hopefully) to have resolved itself
I also think i may be one of the people to have a non functioning alarm but need to investigate this further. But thats it apart from the dreaded stone chips but then every car i've ever owned has had these. Oh and my front seat has got a small shiny patch where the seatbelt rubs

Ultimately this is a great drivers car and made to be enjoyed so don't spoil the fun by worrying about it all the time . I don't but then maybe i'm not as fussy as some

"

looks like hondas gear problems are universal

As a few of you have joined up on the Civinfo site thought i'd return the compliment and say hi on here

I love my Type R its a great car.

I don't really know anything about the US civic. Is the Si version your equivalent of the European Type R?
