Sorry to hear about your damage. Not sure what pleasure folks get from this little act of maliciousness.

Keyers should have their fingers broken and left unset.

What a shame.

Is there going to be a touch-up effort?

Damn that sucks... If you could just find out who did it right, I got out of work today and some idiot in a Nissan Murano bumped my car in the rear in a parking garage... I didn't see him do it but he was dumb enough to leave his car parked the way it was touching my bumper.

I hate people like that, I moved my car up and didn't notice a single scratch or dent plus I just wanted to go home after a long day so I said forget it.

This is a very common occurence. A very annoying one also.
I think a good idea is to install a 4-way camera in ones car.

Maybe a simple camera like this

http://www.spycameras.com/hrc-420.htm

That can hook up to a hard drive for storage and an LCD for display.
When you get back, you can quickly review who was fiddling with your car.

I hate people like that, good thing it never happens to me. Usually there's a reason for it, were you doing anything wrong?

I would key someones car who parked in a handicapped spot, ala Allen Iverson, in a heartbeat if I was 200 percent sure they had no right to be parked there. I don't see myself ever doing that though since "200 percent sure" is a very high standard. That, and the fact I can't fight my way out of a paper bag..

I got my car keyed like a month after I got it. Well, actually, the mark is kinda too thin to be a key...so the asshole just took whatever was thin and sharp in his pocket and just decided to leave a nice little mark on my passenger side door. Luckily, it's still pretty thin whereas you can't see it unless you're right in front of it or know what you're looking for. But still, it sucks. I feel your pain.

Nothing has happened to mine luckily, but one of my sister's friends just got an Si (he's only had it for about 2 weeks) and someone keyed the entire length of the car.
I could see someone doing something where they might get something out of it (even though I couldn't condone it) like stealing it, but what in the hell does keying get you? You can't even prove you did it...assuming you're retarded enough to even take pleasure in it. I don't think it's something that any rational person can ever understand. But it still pisses me off, and it's not even my car!

i don't think it's ever proper to key someone's car regardless of what they did or what you think they did. It's just low and pure cowardice. if you take issue with someone, confront them face to face. i've neverhad a car keyed, but I've had them broken into and fuct with in other ways. I know how it feels. it makes you want to go postal.

I've been noting something kind of common among the folks who have had their gorgeous cars keyed/dented. Fairly young owners basically. Which sort of mean that they may hang around or go to places where other fairly young people hang out. School, clubs, etc. Could it be that at a younger age that envious people would rather destroy or damage someone else's property than try to work hard and get something similiar? I work on a former USAF base and there are lots of military retired guys and so on. I never worry about that happening here. Walmart parking lot yes but the wife normally handles that chore. Guess I'm fortunate in that I don't have to park where haters might hang. It's wrong in any event for people to mess with other peoples things however. Regardless of where you park. It's the F'ed up world we live in sometimes. People do crap because they know they won't get caught 99% of time. My sympathies to all those who have been victims of haters.
