The orange oil dip stick

is horrible!!!!!!

I can't even read it, plus the small holes at the end make it even worse.

Anybody have solutions on a replacement yet?

rough it up with sand paper, clean it with electo clean, paint the end with white heat proof paint. works great.

I changed the oil in mine yesterday and can read it just fine with clean or used oil.

OO by the way Auto Zone around here (Oklahoma) has a M1 5 qt. with M1 filter sale on thru the holiday for 29.99. I stocked up. :)

I've had some bad ones in cars before. My 350Z had one that had to be put in at just the right angle and orientation, or it would bend and get damaged. However, this is definitely my least favorite. What's wrong with the old metal ones that they had to change?
