Question Wideband and Ultimate

So is it possibly to go out from the ultimate into a a/f guage? OR do I need to purchase a standalone wideband kit?

Standalone! The E-Manage is not designed to intercept the stock ECU AFR signal.

well it has too because how are you going to tune? Our stock O2 is a wideband. So it's reading it, however is it possible to output to a guage is what I'm curious of!

You don't have to read the a/f through the software, you can use an external gauge. Tuners will also read exhaust gas temps from external devices as well. Whether you're reading the a/f on a laptop screen or a gauge taped to the laptop screen, what's the difference? You just have to get the readings and adjust according to what you have.

Also, I have to say that I have researched this thoroughly and the stock O2 sensor is not wideband. When I read the voltage on my ODBII it never goes over 1, also indicating narrowband. Widebands have 5 or 6 wires and the stock O2 sensors don't, they have 4. If I'm wrong somebody show me the evidence please because everything I've found points to narrowband.

My MSD Dashhawk reads the AFR's from the stock o2 sensor ( which is a wideband btw) and i get as accurate readings from it, as a dyno.
Currently 10.1:1 at WOT with the comptech SC.
I was 12.7 at 8k WOT N/A with my current mods less the SC

If you would like the proof of the readings, let me know.

Thats why you add another bung on your exhaust pipe and go with an external wideband gauge for tuning. If you cut the primary or secondary O2 sensor your stock ECU will code since it's not getting a reading.

no i'm not talking about patching into stock 02 sensor. I'm saying straight of the ultimate running a guage for a/f. It seems though that i'm going to have to ge a standalone kit to work.

I know you can look at the reading on a laptop however I want to be able to monitor a/f at all times.

If you get a standalone wideband, like the AEM that has a 0-5v analog output, the emanage has an input for the wideband so you can set target AFR's and it makes tuning all that more easy and safe. The more I learn about the Emanage Ultimate the more I think it will be just fine for my Daily Driver.
