Just bought greddy kit, now i need help on add-ons

OK so i need a re-circulating BOV right? Which one should I buy?

Anyone reccomend someone who sells turbo timers with harnesses for our cars?

Anything I need to help or re-inforce what i'm getting in the kit?

Thanks

Eric

You dont NEED to recirculate its just luck of the draw. Mine doesn't and so far not a single stall or sputter (knock on wood) but i only had it on since Tuesday. I would also suggest oil catch can. I put on on a couple weeks after my turbo and glad i did. The stuff i already collected that could be baked on my blades =/

Are you planning on installing it yourself? Just finished my install! Won't even talk about how long it took me. But I can share my "tips" if you'd like.

I wouldnt recommened installing it yourself man, pay the $600 and get it installed by a professional, so much piping involved and whatnot, anything could go wrong. You dont want to afford messing up a $3200 kit.

The install wasn't that hard just time consuming. The removal of the stock parts was way more difficult than the install of the kit.

Self Install tips:

1) WD40 every bolt near the exhaust the night before you do the install.
2) When possible place the original bolts back where they came from when you remove a part.
3) Only put the banjo bolt into the oil pan on finger tight. Then turn it with a wrench only a tiny tiny bit.. Replace it with the fast turbo setup as soon as you can.
4) If your kit came with the correct base map you won't need a tune to run day to day. I plan on getting a tune though after I get a high flow cat.

Intercooler piping is cake. I'd say the most difficult part of the install was getting the rusted exhaust bolts off... and the directions were vague. Had to blow up the pictures and study them in detail to understand what needed to be done. The turbo is heavier than I expected and its a balancing act to get it in place...

I enjoyed my install.. Take your time and don't expect to finish in 1 weekend. It can be done but it took me MUCH longer.

i actually did the cheap home debot/ lowes one. I did 2 and different places. I will take pic tomorrow when there is light to show. I did one on the front ride side of the car. That little crank gas line with a 1 way check valve. Then the other i "Y" together from where they go into the intake. That one isnt catching much but i mainly did it to free up a bung to recirculate my BOV but it isn't stalling or sputtering and for now it sounds awesome XD. I put on a breather from auto zone. Oh tip for vented BOVs your gonna get a lot of heads turning and if you live in a richy little Florida town like me a bunch of punk kids with corrolas are gonna rev at every light -.-

10-4...I have aftermarket exhaust so those bolts are already worked :) Did you install boost guage? If so, where?

I'll let you know just finished the install lastnight Going to run gauges today and get the bung welded on for the wideband tommorow. My exhaust is on backorder though... I did though a CEL when i first started it up however it was my fault(had a vac line not connected). Fixed that and it ran fine... Haven't boosted yet though... waiting till after the wideband is intalled.

10-4..What wideband kit did you go with?

I'm probably going to wait a couple weeks before I can install the wideband but i am getting it tuned the day after install so I should be fine. I'd like to install boost guage by speedo behind steering wheel. You got any ideas on how to mount it there?

You might not NEED to recirculate your BOV but if you haven't bought one yet just buy one that recirculates and stop any problems before they happen. All you guys going into limp mode with BOV's is because they don't recirc. It isn't that hard to do it and they aren't that much more if at all. I'm gonna go with the synapse synchronic BOV with the recirc kit. It's like 250.00. Then all you need to do is have an inlet welded onto the intake pipe after the MAF sensor and connect it with some silicone hose. No more limp mode. Look at the last months Import Tuner and look at the HKS GT-R. They installed their SSQ BOV's on it and they have them Recirc'd because it runs MAF sensors. If you plan on driving your car as a DD I would Highly recommend recirculating the BOV. From what I understand the Synapse BOV isn't a diaphram so it doesn't even need to be adjusted. Just bolt it up and go. No adjusting springs and crap. So you won't leak boost or have boost spikes from it not openeing and closing right. Unless I'm wrong about that. But that's what they advertise anyway.

Nevermind about the Synapse BOV. I just talked to a buddy who has one and he said it's CRAP. I knew I shouldn't believe all that advertising BS. I know HKS makes a recirculating BOV. I'm going with one of those.
