Forced Induction Question

For people with turbo.. how long have you had your turbo in? and have you had any problems with it?

this forum is full of people who have nothing but trouble out of the greddy and All Jap Performance turbo kits.

Search and do your self a favor and stick with the only reliable F/I method out for the Si untill proper tuning is available..........The Comptech Supercharger.

If you only want 250whp. Most people that are having issues with the Greddy kits are ones that are doing the install.

ah dont listen to him, he has a comptech and is going to sell you that. what do you want out of force? the greddy kit is not made to go over 300 and is not really a upgradeable kit

if want a simple turbo get that one, with a down pipe and most important a tune. the comptech is not so important with tune b/c we have a guy in town with one and has not got that tuned. the new computer has really took away from problems that happened before. so the decision is up to you and it doesnt matter to much. a good question would be what is your goal? either comptech or greddy for just a basic forced is fine... if you want more get ajp or try comptech + complex's stage 2 charger setup

2 months, daily driven, no problems at all. Only thing I had to do right after install was update the base map.

I wouldn't say it not upgradeable (Greddy). For the money you get a good kit and you can add bigger injectors and that should help achieve over 300whp on that kit. The turbo efficient range will be pushed beyond 300whp and will generate more torque than whp. The question is the tuning with the Emanage and its limitations.

There are several other kits that will arrive in the coming months, Swift and Redshift, but aren't cheap. Swift will be using the Haltech F10x series for baseline fuel tuning and you can upgrade to the E6x for timing and fuel. They will be using the PT6165 boosted series turbo from Precision. My car should be finally finished by the end of the month and then Swift will need another car for the prototype for actually numbers. If you serious about whp then wait.. If not the Greddy kit was a fun kit while I had it and the superchargers seems to work well with the SIs'.

Actually Swift Racing is doing my complete engine build and decided to build a turbo kit for the Hondas'. Swift is known for Lexus line of car and have been building monster IS300 for years. He's a master tuner for Haltech ECU and been working on the IS300 with CAN systems. So he knows his way around the CAN systems.

If your interested in being a test money, go to Swift Racing Technologies - Home Page and ask for Mo and he will be happy to talk to you about the prototype kit.

The kit will be around $5000-6000 depending on tuning solution you want.

ouch that is like ajp and redshift!

i guess these guys have found out the with this much power to offer we should charge a lot of money!

with a kit that has all the goodies, downpipe, 750 or so injectors, clean manifold, huge turbo garrett something 2.5in intercooler at least you can make real good power. so they think that we will, and which they do pay for these crazy kits!

Well... you get what you pay for IMO. Swift is great to deal with!! and they have a good reputation in the IS world.
