Civic pride TSI R18 turbo!

Guys i just got a call from the shop that my car is ready, i will be going to pick it up today at 9pm central..

It dyno at 180whp and 185lbs of torque at 6psi.. he only dyno tune the car for 2 hours and did not had time to mess wih the timing, and timing is where alot of the power is made.. also i don't have the downpipe, i will be taking my car back to him some other time and will be going to up the boost to 8psi and also be adding the megan racin downpipe and he will be doing more tuning.. so i will be over 200whp..

he also said the dyno where he tune my car is know for not giving out good numbers..

Overall he said no check engine lights and everything is good, i will for sure be taking my car back to him later this month or early next month to get more tuning in, because 2 hours was not enough time for him to fully tune it the way he will have like to tune it..

We will be tuning later this month, because right now i need my car badly.. so the tuning part is going to have to wait alittle, but am happy with what its making at only 6psi..

Stay tune later guys for some of my videos and pictures..

I will like to give thanks to TSI and Procivic for all of their help..

And will also like to give thank to Redlineunlimited, for the turbo install and tuning..

Some pictures for you guys.. the video is on page 2 and 3.

with 185 torque i would like to see it against a stock SI. I think it would be a good race.

Mmmm, 214lb/ft. That's like a million more than the K20. LOL.

OP- Nice job.

The people that feel the need to comment on racing a stock Si or K20 this or that...don't complain if people start flaming the R18 and start up a K20 vs R18 battle again....you guys can't seem to leave it alone.

I will next time i go to the track, but the car will not be boosting 6psi for to long, i plan to up the boost to 8psi and get my car tune some more sometime in the next 2 weeks, and also am buying the megan racing downpipe.. or i might get a custom 2.5 inch made, because my exhaust is 2.5 inch.. to make things better..

Awesome numbers for only 6psi. Atleast you can get use to the extra power a little before you bump it up to 8 :P

the tq from the 1.8l is pretty damn good, espically coming from a Honda motor. one of the few were tq is actually more then hp (maybe only one? lol)

keep us posted with some more pics, vids, etc.

Does the kit already come with a downpipe, or am I mistaken?

Well guys i just got back, about 1 hour ago, but all my local friends wanted to see the car and drive in it, so i took 2 of them for a ride and they where impress of how hard it pulls.. i love it, the interios looks stock, i don't even see where the AEM F/IC unit is located.. i drove the car on the highway and fo 50 minutes and it did great, no check engine lights or nothing.

I din't took any videos right now because it is raining and i have to work tomorrow, but expect some videos for sure tomorrow or at the lates on saturday.. i will be taking some good videos.. i also have to get my oil change..

I have one question for the turbo guys, when i start from first gear i hear something like a grind or like transmission griending or something like that, is more like a feel than a sound, does the turbo causes this? and is this normal? but it only happens while starting from first and at low rpms.. i will be talking to the guy that install it to see if this is normal.. its kind of hard to explain how it feels or how it sounds.. one of my friends said it was a motor mount but i told him no way..

But other than that the car is fine and crazy fast..

Well, being an FG1 owner, I've been criticized by two FG2 owners. One of them laughed at me and the other guy, my friend's older bro, called me a bitch cause I didn't have an Si. Not my fault I don't know how to drive stick.. yet. haha. It'd be nice to see an R18 beat a K20 though because I know that K20 owners pity us. But congrats, pride!! Hope to see some vids up soon!

Not all Si owners are like that, all the ones that i know in real life don't hate on me or my car because its not an Si, but i do agree many people on here are like your friends older brother..
