vid would be nice. Hope its nothing serious man. I was just saying how nice it was to see you guys get these kits up and going! I doubt its anything serious since your revs never went past redline. I am crossin my fingers for you man!

Well i reset my battery and started the car and everything was normal, no check engine light or nothing, i drove the car for about 10 minutes and everything fine.. so i am guessing there was this safety feature on the engine to do what it did.

Am still going to get a better tune soon and am going to try to stay of boost until i get the car tune better..

I would think if it was something major the car will not be drivable or the check engine light will still be flashing but is not.. so i think is nothing major.. the car drives as good as it did before..

am still going to post that video next time i have time, so that everyone can get a good

yeah i would love to se that vid.

That sucks. i was looking forward to see what you were gonna do with 8psi. If it is anything big, i would rebuild the r18 stronger. i think that would be cooler than a k20 swap.

Thank god bro, glad to here its alright. It must have been the car going into limp mode just like some greddy si guys have been experiencing. I'm still wondering why your car did it though.

^^ am guessing because of the misshift and all the air going into the engine and no gas.. am glad i din't hit redline..

So if the car drives fine and everything seems normal, i should not worrie right? i even boosted again doing the test drive to make sure everything was fine and everything was like it was before, the gauges where reading the correct numbers and all..

if its fine now, I don't think you should worry. Just stay out of boost until you get it tuned. You're right though, it might have sensed too lean and threw the whole car into safe mode before it blew.

Lke you said I bet the MAF read a whole bunch of air going into the intake and really not having anywhere to go and the computer probably had a heart attack and went into limp mode.

My feeling is you had the drive by wire throttle close due to some unusual voltages. A datalog at full throttle should show this.

And is that a bad thing? and why will the voltages be close?

I think it just went into limp mode..

The drive by wire throttle closes and puts the ECU into limp mode when it see's some unusal MAP or MAF voltages. You may possibly need to do some mapping to correct this if you have this problem recur everytime you go full throttle if it does not ...then there is no cause for any worry

Hrm...I know for a fact that the K20Z3 does not have an EGR and thought that the R18 did not have one either. Did you try clearing the code to see if it came back?

Well it got clear last night when i unplug the battery for 20 minutes. but it came back this morning.. and the guy at autozone clear the code for me.. but am sure it is going to be back.. he told me to add one of those fuel cleaners into the gas and that should fix the code.. but am not so sure beacause i think this has something to do with the turbo..

I would not heed the advice from an Autozone worker (no offense to those that work there and actually know stuff though).
