NSPYR'S R18 Turbo Updated with pics and videos

Updated 24/05/2008 lots of videos of me racing a evo 7, evo 8, turbo ford focus and others !!! ENJOY

I ordered my TSI R18 Turbo Kit and started the install on the 28/04/2008. The first day i was able to install all the parts of the turbo kit except the AEM FIC and the turbo oil return line. I even was able to install the kit without removing the front bar.

The second Day i was able to install the AEM FIC and removed the oil pan to drill the 15mm hole, and most likely the third day i will be able to finally test drive the car...

Here are some preview pictures taken from my phone's camera...

your the one that asked about reculating the BOV right? all you need to do i take the hose that came with the kit(larger one) put it on the end of the BOV then back to the begining of the intake there was a metal piece that has the fitting for it

This is a link to some pics i've previously posted...

Pictures of my 8th Gen Civic completed

These pictures are a little outdated already, i've now got cross drilled rotors, CF Grill, Type R badges and a new 63mm cat-back exhaust and of course a turbo kit from TSI...

Do you by any chance have a picture i can look at to see how u actually did it? Even using a camera phone would be ok... What happens if we don't reculate the BOV back to the intake ? I was wanting to get a HKS SQV BOV...

I have been having trouble downloading the hex and updated software/firmware for the AEM FIC, is it possible for someone to email these files to me as i can't download them from the AEM forums as im banned, i've tried many internet cafes but it seems the whole of china is banned from entering that forum so i can't download the files. PM me if you can help out

Today started up the car and let it idle for 5 minutes then wanted to test the BOV so started to rev the car but the computer limited me to reving to 3500 rpms. After that the idle became very unstable and the engine kept stalling and was very difficult to start.

Can someone give some advice ? as i've already email TSI but they havnt replied.

Today i finished installing all the parts of the turbo kit and was very anxious to test drive the car, i was however dissapointed.

After installing everything i let the car idle for around 5 minutes, after the engine was heated up i decided to rev the car to test if the BOV worked but i could only rev up too 3500 RPM, after that the idle was very unstable and kept stalling.

I wanted to update the latest maps but was unable to do so as i don't have the latest software for the AEM FIC and i am unable to download it form their AEM website as for some reason im banned from there forums. I've tried using different computers and internet cafes but i am still unable to get the files needed to upload the latest map to the AEM FIC.

I emailed TSI but it's been 3 days now and no reply in regards to updating the AEM FIC software. As i am located in china the time differences makes it difficult as during the workshop's operating hours america's time is 12 hrs difference.

Can someone help me by sending/emailing me the latest AEM FIC software/firmware and the hex file (or something like that) so that i can upload the latest map to the car.

ADVISE PLEASE...

I really am looking for help, i have installed the TSI R18 turbo kit and now having problems tuning the car, as i am in china no one here really know's much about tuning the AEM FIC. At the moment i am trying to reflash the AEM FIC with the latest maps below is what i have tried doing already. Does anyone have the latest software for the AEM FIC as i can't download it from the Aempower.com website as it seems that the whole of china is banned from entering the forums there so i can't download it over the net, if possible can someone PM or email me the latest software/filmware or whatever is needed to reflash/tune the latests maps for the R18 on the AEM FIC.

I have installed the CD that comes with the AEM FIC but i still can't open the latest maps with the program provided. I checked and i am using the Fuel Inition Controller Software 1.04. When i try and open up the latest R18 Map it says that its a "incompatable database version." You have also given me the hex file but i still am unclear of what i need to do with the hex file still. I might also need a driver for my computer to recongize the USB from the FIC as they don't seem to link up. As im in china it's very difficult for me to get help from you people over the phone in america as when the business hours of the workshop here are open, yours are close and vice versa. So i need to get everything needed for reflashing the AEM FIC and at one time so that when i get to my workshop here i can try reflash the AEM FIC with the new maps, but as of now i still can't so would appriciate it if someone could walk me thru it.

I have of now the follow;
AEM FIC 1.04 software (i think i need a updated one)
hex file (what is this for?)
latest R18 FIC maps (i have two maps but unable to load them)

I think i need a driver for my computer to recoginze the AEM FIC when i attach the usb too it.

thx in advance... my msn - yeoadrianyeo@hotmail.com
my email - yeoadrianyeo@gmail.com

The hardest part of the install was the tuning of the AEM FIC computer and the second would be the removing of the oil pan to drill the 15mm hole for the turbo's oil return line. Below is a picture of my oil pan's turbo oil return line.

This is the TSI R18 turbo kit, the same kit u can purchase from Honda Civic Parts Specialists

Apparently the kit will give 200++ whp / 200++ wtq

There is no dyno where i am so i can only do the tuning on one of the deserted highways.

And my car is a manual, i wouldn't bother to turbo charge a auto car...

Today i flashed the AEM FIC successfully, calibrated the TPS and RPM and also uploaded the basemap for the R18 Turbo, The car idles more normally now but the check engine light is on, the engine will only rev too 3500 RPM and the radiator fans don't come on anymore unless we turn the air-con on. I checked if anything was lose but everything seems correct and there are no leakages. Please advice on what to do now ? Im stuck

I have no clue, test drove the car and it seems find from idle, drove to gear 4 and no problems just can't rev past 3500 rpms which sucks... just before the turbo starts to kick in i have to change gears... hehehe
