What line did you tap into for the line to the MAP sensor on the FIC (the manifold pressure tube)? And did you run your cable through the same one with the large grommet and the 1" thick wire cable? How did you get access to that?

I talked to some installers around my area. They weren't even willing to install it because they said you could get huge fines for removing the cat or even putting in a high flow one. One told me if the pigs pulled me over and looked under my car (or technically under my hood which is where the R18's cat is located) and saw that I had no cat I could get slapped with a $20000 fine.

Ouch. They told me that they could get fined for $50000+ if they did an install that did something like that.

I had another guy tell me that even with a high-flow I would not pass an emissions inspection because of the R18's ULEV status which meant there was stringent requirements for ULEV cars.

I really wanted to put this kit in and even read up the instructions manual. Now I'm having second thoughts. I wouldn't worry about something like a header deleting the cat because that is easy to swap, but according to what I've heard (and doesnt mean its true) there isn't a way to pass with this turbo kit.

I mean even if this car isn't a daily driver for me, I still need to get it inspected. I might as well just take it to a private station since state stations even give me hassle for cars that haven't been modified and have no emissions problems.
Let me know if you find out if this stuff is true. I don't even think NJ drivers can pass inspection with an aftermarket exhaust like the TiC.

For this kit Mobil 1 5w20 or 5w30 would be fine. 5w30 will result in a little less gas mileage but also slightly better protection if the engine is running very hot.
