can we start a new thread with install photos, obstacles during installation, solutions, vids even with a cell phone. im just starting to get annoyed since all throughout the thread people had great intentions on providing these things and yet, we basically have nothing so i am cheering for a new thread perhaps "R18 TSI Turbo Kit FAQ" something to that nature. id write it up if it werent for the absence of the kit on my car. One that can be added to with new material when it comes available. can ya dig? otherwise great numbers prelude and good luck txgriff and everyone else getting their things situated

update-
I talked to turbo specialties today and they are sending me a new actuator. I really think that this will help because I believe that is the problem I am having. I really want to thank turbo specialties for always being there and being supportive with sending extra parts and helping solve all of our small problems we are having with this new kit.

got rid of all the check lights, did a little bit of mapping , have it running pretty much to the redline but still running a bit conservative in terms of the fuel ( still erring on the richer side till i do the final tune). The car is pulling 8 psi with the boost coming on at about 2500 and 8 psi at about 3800 holding it all the way to the redline. The car is doing a 0-60 at about 7.5 secs and i reckon that it should probably knock a sec off once it is fully tuned. The torque is really enjoyable and makes city driving so much easier without having to downshift every now and then especially with the airconditioning on.

I had no problems with the pics uploading, just only saw the first set of pics is all. No worries, the external shots look mean...very nice. I've seen people drive around their cars with the front bumpers off so I was just checking.

Most likely the MAF or MAP sensor is not "clamped" at the correct voltage (the clamp value actualy changes with RPM/throttle, so the tuner needs to fill in all those values). The best way to handle this is to try to replicate the error code when your tuner is around. That way, he can see if the voltage is "out of range" for that particular situation that triggers the code.

TSI informed us that they recently found out the base map was corrupted on some of the F/ICs. Unfortunately, they also sent us the corrupted file. We now have the correct one. I will send it to anyone that needs it. It should make your car drivable, but depending on your local conditions, a tune is still recommended of course.

If this issue has affected you, we really do apologize for it. I'm not sure how the file arrived at TSI got corrupted for those kits, but it has been fixed now.
Can someone give me the step by step instructions to install the FINAL R18 Base Map as i am having trouble doing this, my laptop doesn't recoginize the FIC.

I have installed the CD that comes with the AEM FIC but i still can't open the latest maps with the program provided. I checked and i am using the Fuel Inition Controller Software 1.04. When i try and open up the latest R18 Map it says that its a "incompatable database version." You have also given me the hex file but i still am unclear of what i need to do with the hex file still. I might also need a driver for my computer to recongize the USB from the FIC as they don't seem to link up. As im in china it's very difficult for me to get help from you people over the phone in america as when the business hours of the workshop here are open, yours are close and vice versa. So i need to get everything needed for reflashing the AEM FIC and at one time so that when i get to my workshop here i can try reflash the AEM FIC with the new maps, but as of now i still can't so would appriciate it if someone could walk me thru it.

Thx guys
